TEXAS FARMERS, ATTENTION.
Tho following circular, from tho
Commissioner of Agriculture at Aus-

To the Farmers of tho State of Texas:
In order that Texas may show her
vast resources and ability to success-

advisability of planting some one of!
the above-named cereals, etc., and to
begin at once the preparation of the
soil in the most approved manner, so
as to reap tho largest possible yield.
And I eoniidently appeal to your state |
pride, anticipating the largest produc-!
tions to tho area planted of any state |
in the union. j
It will not do for Texas to bo placed !
in the background and have her bound
less resources dwarfed in the eyes of
the world, simply for tho lack of efforts
to develop the fertility of her soil ami
climate.
It will be necessary for each one who
determines lo enter tho contest to
make a written statement of the area
of bind planted, how the soil whs pre-
pared, to what and when sowed, the
sTeams- whether favorable or unfa-
vorable-and the date and amount

to tho number, excellence and beauty
of her fabrics, machinery, implements
and agricultural productions, etc.
Let the farmers of tho Lone
State see to it tlmt she suffers no
