Acuity in the republican convention

It developed that Governor Odell
today requested Sheldon to withdraw
from the race for the nomination for
second place on the ticket. The gey-

of the opinion that Sheldon's can- j

In speaking of the undertaking Mt
Plan- said that the company In des-
tined to do a wonderful butdm In
this district by reason of its rat I read
construction, which will furnish means
of transportation to a hitherto practi-
cally inaccessible mining country. An-
other thing that gives the company a
great advantage is the control of nil
the water supply In the vicinity where
the reduction plant is located. Over
$700,000 have been Invested tn the
enterprise and other Improvement*,
now under contemplation, will run the
investment up to $1,000,000
The district, which la 135 mile*

grade gold and -silver ore, which is
now being handled by the nev, com-

Mr. Potter, who la Just back from

come the Klondike of Mexico. While
In Chihuahua he visited Governor
Ahmnada, who he thinks ta a great
man and a safe guardian of American
Investors. He think* that Mexico will
make great advancement In the nejir
future and thnt there 1* no safer place
In the ytorid for investment than In
that country.
The thing that pleased him most was
the new laws In relation to the organ
I nation and capitalization of foreign
companies. Cmler this new law, Mi
potter explained, that a corporation
organized under the laws ot any state
in the United State* may, upon regis-
tering its hy-lawe tn the federal dis-
trict, become u subject of the federal
Jurisdiction and thtui escape the ah
noyance of inferior court*. Capitali-

made on the number of dollar*, gold.
