Points decided upon for game

side from the south fifty-yard line
north.
3. The Westerners will use the
home dressing rooms and west
side benches and phones.
4. MHS students and band will
sit on the south end of the east
side of the south fifty-yard line
north. Adults will sit on the north
half of the east side.
5. The MHS team will use the
visiting team dressing room and
the east side benches and phones.
6. Lubbock High will decorate
both goal posts.
7. No restrictions were placed
on the number of signs and ban-
ners to be put up at Lowery.
8. No limitations were placed
on the size of banners so long as
the view of the spectators would
not be obstructed.
9.. A model Westerner and/or
Plainsman may be used.
10. The Lubbock High car and
bell, and the Monterey Peon car
and gong may be brought onto
the field.

the spurs to the student body will
be left up to the winning school.
15. Monterey will read the
Sportsmanship Code before the
game. Lubbock High will give the
welcome and invocation.
Tech Students
Display Talents
Zorro maybe? Not quite. It was
Biff Painter and Perry Langen-
stein demonstrating their fencing
talents to the National Thespians
last Tuesday at 4 p.m. in Room
117.
Bill and Perry, from Tech, came
to show their fencing abilities
since fencing has more graceful
movements. “It was mainly for
improvement of the student’s stage
movement, but also for the fencing
and for entertainment,” said Mrs.
Juanice Myers, drama teacher and
Thespians sponsor.
Tech’s first production “Richard
III” features Biff and Perry.
Perry did all the coaching for the
fencing for the “Richard III” and
for the previous play “Romeo and
Juliet.”
Headlining the halftime enter-
tainment in the Lubbock Monterey
tilt for the spurs tonight will be
the band performing a series of
Negro spirituals.
As the band moves onto the
field, the lights in Lowrey Field
will be dimmed. Each band mem-
ber will have a light attached to
his helmet as they move through
their routine; the patterns of their
movements will be outlined on the
field.
Such songs as “Swing Low
Sweet Chariot,” “Joshua,” ‘When
the Saints Go Marching In” and
“Ezekial,” will be performed by
the marching band under the dir-
ection of drum majors George
Bennett and Jimmy Shipley.
Feature twirler Kay Evans will
twirl fire as she will use a baton
burning at each end.
Dean Killion, band director at
Texas Tech, has been helping the
Westerner band prepare for their
showing tonight.
