Third-graders at Beth Yeshurun
Day School put their persuasive
writing skills to use by writing
letters to Mindy Rosenthal, the day
school principal. Excited about the
Houston Texans winning their first
playoff game, the students wanted
to show their support to the Texans
by wearing spirit wear on a Friday,
which usually is a formal dress day
On the Thursday before the
second playoff game, Rosenthal
announced that Friday, Jan. 13,
would be BYDS’ Texans spirit day,
a first for the school, all because of
the students’ letters. The children
were excited that they were able
to persuade Rosenthal to having
a Texans spirit day in which the
entire school could participate. □
