J C. V. Singleton was called to
Paducah this week for the dir-
ection of the funeral rites for
his aunt, Mrs. P. M. Fields. The
Singleton Funeral Home service
was a special request of relatives.
A group of friends which in-
cluded Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Stew-
art, Mr. and Mrs. Hardy Dalmont,
Mr. and Mrs. M. Scott Doss, Ray
Anderson, Ira Elkins, Jr., Walk-
er Dearing and Mrs. Laura
Sharp, of Jacksonville, Florida,
spent a most enjoyable week end
vacation in Ruidoso, N. M,
The Doyle McAdoo family are
now occupying their new home
in the southwest addition of
Seminole. The residence which
has just been completed in a
modern, convenient home of six
rooms and bath and the owners
are justly proud of it.
Mr. and Mrs. Coughran Ket-
ner were in Lubbock Sunday.
They visited with relatives, Mrs.
Callie Horton and Mr. and Mrs.
Oran Bain.
Mrs. W. H. McCoy was cal
led to Kingsville, Tuesday, by the
serious illness of her niece, the
baby girl of Mr. and Mrs. 0.
O. Beebe, who are former Sem-
inole residents.
Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Short and
family, of Post, were here Sun-
day. They were visitors in the
home of Mrs. Short’s brother,
C. V. Singleton.
Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Giddings
Eleven members of the Wo-
man’s Society of Christian Ser-
vice of the Methodist Church
were present Monday afternoon.
"Of Such is the Kingdom” was
the title of the program pres-
ented by Mrs. V. L. Wilson, lead-
er and Mrs. E. C. Estep and
Chester Telge.
Clyde White, of Pampa, and
his sister, Mrs. Ralph Huckabee,
of Lubbock, were here this week
the guests of their brother, W.
A. White and family.
Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Cox were
recent visitors in Austin, where
Mrs. Joe Dennis left Thursday
via the Pioneer Airline for Aus-
tin, where she is receiving
treatment at the St. David Hos-
pital.
Mr. and Mrs. G. T. McAlpin
and children, accompanied by
Mrs. W. T. McAlpin left Satur-
day for a weeks vacation in Col-
orado. They were joined in
Farmington, N. M., by Mr. and
Mrs. Arthur L. Duff, Jr. Mrs.
McAlpin and Mrs. Duff are sis-
ters.
Recent guests in the home of
Rev and Mrs. H. B. Coggin were
returned home Monday nightvA. Cox, a cousin. Mr. Cox is

home from a pleasant trip
spent in the various scenic re-
sorts of the state of Colorado.
Miss Juanita Long has accep-
ted a position in the Malcolm
Variety Store.
Lt. Carroll Cobb was a visit-
or in Post, Tuesday. His grand-
mother, Mrs. Martha Forbes,
who had been visiting in the
home of Judge and Mrs. J. Lee
Bowen accompanied him home.
County Attorney Amos Harper
and Mrs. Harper are moving to
the Roy McGill home in south
Seminole, this week. Mr. Har-
per has recently purchased this
residence property.
C. T. Benson and Amos Turn-
bow, of the McAlpin and Benson
Humble Service Station, attend-
ed the Humble District Sales
meeting held in
Wednesday.
