procedures had best be left until

Under diet, for the good of the
child and the mother both, it la well
to see that there is plenty of vitamin
I) and vitamin 0 in the diet of .the
expectant mother. A diet built up
around the live main articles—
meat, eggs, milk, vegetables and
fruits—will supply Abase essential
elements. One or two eggs daily
will correct a deficiency of vitamin
D. A quart of milk supplies 1J1
grams of <ulci«m, which is adequate
for normal demabda. If tho eg-
pedant mother is unable to drink
milk and ent proper amounts of
green vegetables, it becomes neces-
sary to add calcium powder to the
diet. In months when there is little
sunshine, soma form of eod-llvsr oil
should be added to the mother’s diet
Art of Brushing
' A
Oral hygiene is doubly important
A clean mouth contributes to tha
comfort and health of the mother at
this time. In many cnaee where it ia
evident that tha another has not
learned the proper may to brush
her teeth, this should be carefully
taught her.
There is nothing different In this
from ordinary personal hygiene.
Proper pre-natal care should make
an expectant mother feel not that
pregnancy is soma terrible disease,
