The program for the reception
will feature musical numbers by
Miss Ceoelia Spivakowsky, edu-
cational consultant who recently
arrived here from England, and
vocal solos by Mrs. H. A. Watts.

Sets Centennial
September 21st
Orange descendants of Neill
McLennan, pioneer Texan for
whom McLennan county was
named, are planning to attend the
meeting to celebrate the 100th
anniversary of tfie establishment
of McLennan’s home which will
be held in Waco qn September
21.
One hundred year's ago Neill
McLennan, n native of Scotland,
moved his family from Robertson’s
Colony on the Brazos where they
had lived for eleven years to a
site on South Bosque river. There
he built the first home in that
section of Texas, It was stated.
Members of the family from many
parts of the United States are ex-
pected to attend the centennial
meeting on September 21.—-

Miss Ann Laney, daughter of Mr,
and Mrs. R., L. Laney of Eldorado,
Arkansas to L. S. Woodruff, son
of Mrs. E. C. Woodruff of Santa
Rosa, Mexico, The wedding took
place on the evening of August
31 at 8:30 o’clocx uv the study of
the First Baptist church with the
Rev. W. A. Corkern officiating.
The bride wore an aqua suit
with block accessories.
Attending the ceremony were
Mrs. Tommie Taylor, Miss Mau-
rine Burns and L- A. Wouherton.
Mrs. Woodruff Is a graduate
nurse of Charity Hospital in
Shreveport, La., and is now em-
ployed as industrial nurse at
Brown and Root Construction
company. She was formerly em-
ployed at the Orange City Hos-
pital.
Mr. Woodruff is employed as su-
perintendent of electricians at
Brown and Hoot Construction
company.
The couple are making their

Mrs. Robert Andrew Ingram, pictured above, was before
her marriage on September 7th, Miss Dorace McGill of this
city. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. U. McGill'of
1312 Orange avenue. Mr. and Mrs. Ingram will at present
make (heir home in Galveston where Mr. Ingram is a stud-
ent at the University of Texas Medical School.

members of the Sunset, Bridge
