mittee. It was voted that the Glea-
ners make a payment on Improve-
ments being made on the parsonage.
Mra. Ernest Cottle slowed the meet
• ing with a devotional which was fol-
lowed by a social hour. Light re-
freshments were served.
Mrs. J. H. David will lie hostess
for the Spiritual Life meeting which
will h% held Tuesday morning at III
o'clock at her home on Cherry Street.
The next regular weekly meeting
of the Gleaners will be held Thurs-
day afternoon at 8 *.30 o'clock at the
home of Mrs. Ernest Cottle.
The quarterly covered dish supper
will be enjoyed by members of the
Order of the Eastern Star on Tues-
day night at fl;*0 o’clock at the Ma-
sonic Temple. After the supper the
regular meeting will be held with
Mrs. Fannie Capps, worthy matron,
in charge.
The monthly meeting of the Pei
ham Chapter of the United Daugh-
ters ef the Confederacy will be held
Monday evening at 7: SO o’clock at

ing Circle of the Wonsan’* Mi*«ion-
ary Society of the First Methodist
Church was held Thursday night at
7:80 o'clock at the church with Mrs.
Myrtle Scott as hostess.
Mrs. Eugene Cottle presided over
the business session at which reports
Were given on the sale of dust puffs
and greeting cards. Mrs. R. Lee Da-
vis taught the second lesson from
the book, "Songs of Zion,” with each
member present tuking part b,v read-
ing selections of Scripture. A social
hour was enjoyed and refreshments
were served by the hostess.
The next meeling will be held on
Thursday night at 7:30 o'clock at
the home of Mrs. Eugene Cottle on
North Tenth Street.

the six circles of the Woman's Mis-
sionary Union of the First Buptlst
church were held Thursday at the
following homes:

the home of Mra. D. C. Bennett.
Seven members were in attendance.
Mrs. Bennett presided over the bus
loess session in the absence of Mr*.
O. L. Br.’-er, president, '’the devo-
tional was led by Mrs. A. J. Me-
Kenxie. Miss Zemma Hare taught
the Bible lesson. The next meeting
will be held Thursday morning at
the regular time at the home of
-Mrs. K. E. McFarland.
Circle Two met at 3 p. m. In the
home of Mrs. Henry 1’achar. The
hostess led the devotional and Mrs.
L. F. Branum had charge of the
Bibb lesson from Jeremiah. Mrs.
Alex Lott presided over the business
session. The next meeting will be
held Thursday at 3 p. m. at the
home of Mrs. Cheek I’achar.

session. Light refreshments were
served.

the meeting of Circle Five which
was held at 3 :30 o’clock at the home
of Mrs, Forrest Clough on Eleventh
Street. The hostess led the devo-
tional and presided over the bust-
ness session In the absence of Mra.
V. O. 1’rlnee, president. Mr*. Urty
Colburn presented the lesson on
"Stewardship.” Circle Five will
meet in all day session at the
church with the other circles of the
W. M. U, on the following Thurs-

visitor in attendance. Mrs. Ben
