(Bev. Gordon Barrett.)
To me it la inconceivable to think
of lay person arriving at their ma
t»rRy and not having something de-
flatte in their minds that they expect
to achieve in life. That training and
environment are cardinal virtues la
every person a success in life, no
saae man is going to deny. The above
being true, K is vastly Imixirtant that
vre aa parents, teachers and citisens.
both by precept and example, teach
oor children; and create an environ-
ment about them that will be con-
ducive to real manhood and woman
hood. 1 ,
The vocation in which I am now
angaged, is not mine through choice.
Not that X do not regard the ministry
aa one of the most noble, it not the
most nolble works in which any motb-
-» er'H son ever engaged. But that 1
have never felt myself worthy of such
a high and holy calling.
Tim church that called me to be-
come her pastor, manifested confi-
dence in me, both as having the abil-
ity to teach and the character to live
as all true ministers should live My
dally prayer is, that I may not dis-
appoint them either In my teaching
or living, it is far better that I had
never been, that that I should be a
traitor to such a trust. As sweet as
life is, I bad rather die than to live
and betray a friend
If it were in my power to Uoso. 1
would help every unsaved person with
whom I come in contact to find the
Lord, whom to know is to love. Yes
1 would lead the saved people to de-
• dttcate their lives to the service of
God and the help of humanity. The
saved and the unsaved, are agreed on
this one thing, that the warm and
sympathetic spirit of the Samaritan
is meuh more becoming than the cold
sad calloused heart of the self-cen-
tered Priest. If I could, I would play
the part of the Good Samaritan to ev-
ery one who needs a lift.
I would like to be able to make
money, not for the sake of making It
and hoarding It up; but for the good
that 1 might do with It. 1 seek
knowledge, not for the sake of know-
lag; but that 1 may know how to live
1 would like to live to a ripe old age.

Here Are a Few Reasons Why The Undersigned
Citizens Are Going to Vote For the—
STREET PAVING BONDS
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 6TH, IT WILL BE THE DUTY OF EVERY CITIZEN TO GO TO THE POLLS AND VOTE ON THE BOND ISSUE OF
$40,000.00 FOR HE PURPOfijjl QF PERMANENTLY PAVING THE BUSINESS STREETS OF DUBLIN. THE CITIZENS WHOSE NAMES AP-
PEAR BELOW ARE GOING TO VOTE FOR THESE BONDS, BECAUSE:
THE COST TO EACH TAXPAYER IS VERY SMALL THE INCREASE IN THE TAX RATE
WILL BB ONLY 25 CENTS PER HUNDRED DOLLARS OF ASSESSED PROPERTY VALUE.
THE BOND ISSUE OF $40,000.00 WILL INSURE $120,000 WORTH OF PERMANENT PAVING
IN DUBLIN WITHIN THE NEXT FEW MONTHS.
CONDITIONS AT THIS TIME ARE SUCH THAT THE WORK CAN BE CONTRACTED AT UN-
USUALLY LOW PRICES. ,
THOSE Ilf CHARGE OF THE AFFAIRS OF OUCITY WILL SEE THAT WE GET A DOLLAR
IN PAVING FOR EVERY DOLLAR SPENT.
EVERY CITIZEN WILL SAVE BY A REUCTION ON THE INSURANCE KEY RATE WHICH
THE PAVING WILL CAUSE.
THE PROGRE8S AND GROWTH OF DUBLIN DEMAND THAT STREETS BE PAVED IN OR-
DER TO INSURE FUTURE GROWTH.
A PERMANENTLY PAVED STREET HAS NO EXPENSIVE UP KEEP COST. THIS WILL
MIAN MORE TIMS AND MONEY TO BE SPENT ON OTHER STREETS IN TOWN.
WORK WILL BE GIVEN TO A LARGE NUMBER OF DUBLIN CITIZENS AT A TIME WHEN IT
WILL BE HEEDED THE MOST.
HMBWfv/' ■ ■
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THE PROGRESS AND ADVANCEMENT OF DUBLIN, DO YOUR FART-GO AND VOTE. THEN TELL YOUR
NEIGHBOR, FRIENDS AND BUSINESS ASSOCIATES TO GO TO THE POLLS.
