Concert and
Fireworks Show
Roscoe will host a free
concert and fireworks
show with the Moody
Crawford Band and Hogg
Maulies on Friday, July 17,
starting at 6:30 p.m. The
Moody Crawford Band will
start the show, to be held
outside on Cypress Street
in front of City Hall. The
Hogg Maulies will start
playing around 7:30, then
the fireworks show will start
around 9:30. The fireworks
will be shot off north of
town, north of the railroad
tracks. Everyone is encour-
aged to bring their lawn
chairs and coolers. There
will also be vendors in the
same area during that time.
Thursday, July 23
Plowboy Football
Camp
Roscoe will hold its
Plowboy Football Camp on
Thursday through Saturday,
July 23-25 at the Roscoe
practice field. The camp is
for students who are enter-
ing grades 3-9 and will be
led by the Roscoe football
coaching staff. The camp
will be taught each day from
9 a.m. to noon. The cost
is $30 and will include a
camp T-shirt. Students who
attend can wear their T-shirt
and get in free to all Roscoe
home football games. Those
who plan to attend should
pre-register or notify' the
camp coaching staff so that
T-shirts can be ordered.
Registration forms are
available at either the high
school or elementary omce.
Registration will begin
Tuesday, July 20 at 8:30
a.m. at the Roscoe practice
field. Persons who wish to
attend the camp are asked
to return their registration
forms to Wes Williams,
Roscoe High School, Box
579, Roscoe, TX 79545.
or call the coaches office
(766-3844) or Williams'
home number (766-3408)
for more information. The
Roscoe student managers
will be selected from the
camp group.
Saturday, July 25
Blackwell Riding Club
The Blackwell Riding
Club will have a play
day beginning at 7 p.m.
Saturday, July 25, 2009, at
the Blackwell roping arena.
Events will include chute
dogging, barrels, pole bend-
ing, straight-av, iy barrels
and flags. The cost is $4 per
event. Concessions will be

I)F Ranch Triathlon
The first DF Ranch
Triathlon will be held begin-
ning at 7:30 a.m. Saturday,
July 25, 2009. The event
will be a champion chip
timed event consisting of
a 500 meter swim in Lake
Sweetwater, a 14 mile bike
on FM 2035 and a 3.1 mile
run. The race is limited to
200 participants. The race is
a USA Triathlon sanctioned
event. All profits will be
donated to the Alzheimer's
Association Texas Star
Chapter. To register, log on

This year's Mustang Golf
Camp will be held Tuesday,
July 28 through Friday,

July 31, at tne Sweetwater
Country Club. This camp
welcomes children of all
ages. The cost is $65 per
child and there will be fam-
ily discounts given. The
camp will focus on the
rules, etiquette, fundamen-
tals, ball striking and course
management of golf. There
will be numerous competi-
tions throughout the week,
culminating in a swim
party where the children
will enjoy lunch, t-shirts
and awards. Regarding any

SNAP Seeks
Donations
SNAP is currently seek-
ing donations for its annual
rummage sale and fund-
raiser. All proceeds will
benefit SNAP. The sale is
slated for Saturday, Aug. 8,
and will be held indoors, in
the air conditioned SNAP
building. Anything that can
be resold can be donated.

cycle accident. She was
also involved in the same

Renfro Account
A trust fund has been
set up for the family of
Bryan Renfro in Roscoe.
Renfro died recently and
left behind a wife and
seven-year-old son. The

Meals on Wheels
Drivers Needed
SNAP is in need of vol-
unteers to deliver meals
for their Meals on Wheels
Program. Drivers are need-
ed Tuesday through Friday,
but mostly on Tuesday and
Wednesday. Drivers will
(lick meals up at 10:45 a.m.
and it takes about 45 min-
utes to deliver one route of
meals. Those wanting to vol-
unteer may call 236-6344

the Week involves sev-
eral car burglaries in
Sweetwater. Sometime
Monday night, May 4,
or early Tuesday morn-
ing, May 5, unknown
person(s) entered
unlocked vehicles in
an area of the north-
east part of Sweetwater
and stole several items.
Taken in the burglaries
were checks, cell phones,
a laptop computer, and
iPod and a handgun.
Crime Stoppers will pay
up to $1,000 in cash as
a reward for informa-
tion received this week
that leads to an arrest or
indictment in this case.
