Local FBC members to
compete in state Bible Drill
First Baptist Church of Sweetwater hosted a Bihlc Drill on March 29, ZOO*). Shown are

The Rolling Plains Baptist Network Bible Drill was held on Sunday, April 5, 2009. All
three drillers will be competing in the State Bible Drill in Abilene on the weekend of April
17-18, at First Baptist Church of Abilene. The drillers are Cheyanna Petty FBC
Sweetwater, Jonathan Blassingamc FBC Colorado City and Shannon Gray FBC
Sweetwater. They each scored excellent to advance to state. Bible Drill is a competition
against a stopwatch of 10 seconds. During the school year, they memorize 25 verses, the
books of the Bible and 10 key passages. They must learn to quote the verses given, the
reference verse or give the first few words of the verse. They must quote the verse and
reference. Also they must find any book of the Bible and tind it within 10 seconds, then
state the hook before, the book itself and the next book of the Bible. The last drill is to
find the key passage within 10 seconds, when called upon state the title of the key pas-
sage, reference and read a verse within the key passage.
Knights of Columbus in
Albany/Breckenridge to
hold bass tournament
The St. Jude Knights of Columbus First place will be a guaranteed $1000,
Council #11638 of Albany/Breckenridge with second and third place receiving a
