Accent Furnishings
"Inspiration-Lighting” Is the
name given to a new theory of
home lighting by the Moe Light
Division at Thomas Industries Inc.
The theory, which has been adopt-
ed by builders, decorators and
[designer* around the nation, is
borrowed from the theater, where
lighting is used to accent players
or props and to create dramatic
effects.
In the home, Inspiration-Light-
ing means the intelligent use of
enough attractive lighting fixtures.
These should supply general and
local lighting; accent furnishings
or intensify colon; call attention
to fine paintings or bring out un-
usual textures of draperies or car-
pets.
Pull-down fixtures, close-to-ceil-
ing fixtures, accent spots and re-
cessed light fixtures can be used in
many combinations to give your
home “Inspiration-Lighting.’’

BRIDGE CITY’S WATER-SEWER OFFICE—This 28-by-22-foot as-
bestos-siding building is the new office of the Oyange County Water

beige and ivory color and there is asphalt tile on the floor.
Panaling Modernizes
Old Off-Floor Tub
To modernize an old-fashioned
bathtub that stands off the floor
and let* hard-to-reach dirt gather
underneath, enclose it with panel-
ing. -
Especially desirable for such a
project is. Marlite, a hardboerd
paneling predecorated in marble
patterns, Wood grains and plain
colon. Since the material is much
used for walls of bathrooms, suit-
able moldings and joint sealers for
a tub enclosure job are readily
available at the same lumber yard
that handles the panelling.
Marlite has a baked plastic fin-
ish to protect it from moisture,
dirt and wear.
