Sweetwater Little Theatre
Sweetwater Little Theatre will present
"Godspell" Aug. 13-15 at the Municipal
Auditorium. Snow time is 8 p.m., and
tickets will be available at the door for
$5 each starting at 7:30. Groups of 10
or more on Thursday, Aug. 13, may pur-
chase tickets at half price.

Booster Club Luncheon
The Mustang Booster Club will have
a luncheon with the football coaches at
noon on Friday, Aug. 14. The meeting will

Justin Corzine, District Conservationist
with the USDA-Natural Resources
Conservation Service (NRCS) has resigned
his position to follow his first love, farm-
ing. There will be a come and go visit
from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, for
Corzine at the USDA building, located at
103 West Florida in Sweetwater.
Revival
A revival with Ricky Vargas will be
held Friday, Aug. 14, through Sunday,
Aug. 16, at 6 p.m. each evening at the
New Life Tabernacle, located on the
corner of Roscoe and Poplar Streets in
Sweetwater.
Saturday, Aug. 15
Highland Baptist VBS
Highland Baptist Church, located at
503 E. Alabama, will have Vacation Bible
School beginning Saturday, Aug. 15, from
9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for ages Pre-K through
fifth grade. The theme is "the Wordless
Book." There will be fim crafts and learn-
ing God's Word.
Rummage, Bake Sale
A rummage and bake sale will be held
from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15,
2009, at Lamar Street Baptist Church,
located at 513 Lamar Street. The sale will
help defray the cost of medical expenses
for Sweetwater resident Juanita Garcia.
Sunday, Aug. 16
4-H Awards Banquet
The Nolan County 4-H Awards Banquet
will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16,
2009, at the Sweetwater Lions Club
building. During the banquet, 4-H mem-
bers are recognized for their outstanding
accomplishments during the 2008-2009
year. Those attending are asked to RSVP
by Friday, Aug. 14.

AARP
Nolan County Chapter AAR I’ will meet
at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, at the
SNAP building. A business meeting will
be held with a musical program by The
Drifters band to follow. A covered dish
meal will be serv ed.
SMS Eighth Grade Football
Football eouipment for Sweetwater
Middle School eighth grade football ath-
letes will be issued on Monday, Aug. 17,
between 4-6 p.m. at the SMS neldhouse.
Athletes must bring all of their completed
paperwork.
Cross Country
All boys and girls who wall be on the
Sweetwater High School cross country
team are to meet for their first practice at
6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, at the SHS field-
house, according to SHS coach Christi

Roscoe Elementary School will conduct
new student registration Monday, Aug.

Nolan County Livestock
Association Meeting
The Nolan County Livestock
Association’s annual meeting will be held
in the Coliseum old kitchen at 7 p.m. on
Tuesday, Aug. 18. Parents of students that
will be participating in the 2010 County
Livestock show as well as supporters of
the Sweetwater, Blackwell, Highland and
Roscoe FFA and the Nolan County 4-H
or anyone interested in becoming a mem-
ber of the Association are encouraged to
attend.
Wednesday, Aug. 19
Immunization Fun Day 2
The Sweetwater-Nolan County Health
Department, located at 301E. 12th Street,
will have their second Immunization Fun
Day of the year from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and
1:30-6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19. This will
be the last chance for children to receive
their immunizations at the health depart-
ment before school starts on Monday,
Aug. 24. There are new required vaccines
for children entering kindergarten and
seventh grade. Each child receiving vac-
cines this day will receive a free t-shirt
while supplies last. For more informa-
tion, call SNCHD at 235-5463.
Adult Literacy
The Adult Literacy/ESL class will meet
at the County-City Library at 10 a.m.
Wednesday, Aug. 19. Instructors will help
individuals learn to read, improve read-
ing skills, improve English skills and help

Breast feed i ng Clinic
Outreach Health Services will have a
breastfeeding clinic from 1:30-3:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, at the Nolan
County Women, Infant and Children
(WIC) office, located at 411 E. Third
Street. There will be food, drinks, games

Story Hour
Story Hour at the County-City Library
for parents and their children will be held
at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20. Dee Ann

Texas Hunter Education Class
A Texas Hunter Education Class will
be conducted Aug. 21-22. Friday class
is from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday class is
from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Classes will be held
at the Sweetwater Rifle and Pistol Club
building, located at 117 Loop 170 (aiiport
loop), West of town on Business 20. Cost
of the class is $15 and both classes must
he attended to he certified. Instructor is

Saturday, Aug. 22
Nolan VFD Barbecue
The Nolan Volunteer Fire Department
will be having its Annual Bar-B-Que
Saturday, Aug. 22, from 5-7:30 p.m., at
the Nolan Divide Community Center.
Adult plates will he $8.50 and children
ages 4-12 will be $4. All plates will be all-
you-can-eat. Also, if you have not had a
chance to pay our 2009 Dues ($24), this
would be a great opportunity to take care
of them. Pre-orders on briskets will also
be taken this year for $25.00 for a half
and $50 for a whole brisket. Orders may
be placed by calling Mark Morrow at 338-

entered unlocked vehicles
in an area of the northeast
part of Sweetwater and
stole several items. Taken
in the burglaries were
cheeks, cell phones, a lap-
top computer, and iPod
and a handgun. Crime

this week that leads to
