lege for Women on Wednesday and
i Thursday nights. January 18th.
and 19th at 8:18 o’clock.
Mias Frances Bolinger, daugh-1
ter of Mra. Fannie Bolinger of
Dublin, had an active part In the
play in the character of a Chinese
princess. To tnchance the effect
of stylised costumes, all beard and
wigs were made of shredded cel-
lophane. Mias Bolinger wore an
elaborate headdress typifying a J
princess of that day and instead,
or the cellophane wig, she had her
hair dusted to a gold color.
True to the Chinese theatrical
tradition, the production used no
scenery, property men stayed on
stage In full view of the audience
in order to supply actors with
cushions on which to faint, ted
with which to refresh themselves,
and brushes with which to dust off
costumes. *
Miss Mary K. Sands, profess*-
of history of the drama, waa the
director for the play, and costumes ,
were designed by members of the
art faculty. %
