  • Content Description: Postcard of a marble statue of Jesus Christ with arms open. The back describes the postcard as the following, "This heroic statue of "The Divine Healer" was presented to the John Hopkins Hospital in 1896 by Mr. William Wallace Spence. It is a replica of the famous work of Bertel Thorvaldsen which was placed in Copenhagen. The white figure was carved from a block of Carrara marble with this lettering at the base of the statue -- "Come unto me all ye that are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest."
