Miss Monroe And
Dick Gage Jr.
Are Married
Miss Mary Ann Monroe and Rich-
ard Staples Gage Jr. took their
wedding vows on Jan. 31 in the West
University Baptist Church. They
are seniors at Texas Christian
University in Ft. Worth.
She is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. W.F. Monroe of 5666Sylmar.
The groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. R.S. Gage Sr., 6132 Birdwood.
The bride’s gown was a sheath of
peau de soie with a full train. The
deep yoke was of heavy Venice lace
which also banded the long tapered
sleeves. A cap of lace and jewels
held her bouffant veil of illusion.
Her attendants were Mrs. Kara
Lynne Heiss, Mrs. Cary Sloan,
Miss Janice Baughman of Ft.
Worth, Mrs. Charles Robison, Miss
Marla Boswell and Miss Pamela
Gage, junior bridesmaid. Miss
Karen Barbour was flower girl.
They wore gowns of shocking
pink and carried white satin muffs.
The best man was Douglas
Beatty. Groomsmen were the
brothers of the bride and groom,
William A. Monroe, Glenn Monroe
and Earl Gage. Also Cary Sloan
and Carroll Bonneau.
The bride is majoring in nursing
and is a Second Lt. in the U.S.
U.S. Army Nurse Corps. Hie groom
holds a baseball scholarship at
T.C.U., is a member of Sigma
Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and is
majoring in business management.
They will return to Ft. Worth to
finish school after a wedding trip to
Ruidoso, New Mexico.
Miss Carol Smith
Becomes Bride
of Jack Patterson
Miss Carol Lauretta Smith,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest
A. Smith, 3915 Ripplebrook, became
the bride of Jack Patterson Jr.,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Patter-
son, 3722 Turnberry Circle, on
Jan. 25 in the chapel of Bethany
Methodist Church.
The maid of honor was Miss
Linda Smith, the bride’s sister,
and the best man was Dale Mayes.
A reception was held in the home
of the bride’s parents.
The bride is a native of Ham-
mond, Ind. The groom is a gradu-
ate of the University of Houston
where he was a member of Delta
Sigma Phi. He completed high
school at Bellaire.
Westbury Me. Club
The Westbury Methodist Garden
Club will meet Thursday, Feb. 6
at 9:30 a.m. at the home of Mrs.
Dan Kamas, 5738 Braesheather.
