Awake and Singf opens tonight
As part of its celebration
of Jewish Book Month, the

powerful 1935 Broadway
drama AWAKE AND
SING. The play is slated for
four evening performances,

Directed by Phil Fisher,

the intensely dramatic story
of a struggling Jewish

conflicts brought about by
the break away from
tradition and the family.
The cast features both
familiar and new faces to the
Houston community theatre
scene: Herbert Paine,
Sylvia Caplan, Robert Cole,
Ellen Panansky, Kenn Culli-
nane, John Houser, Ben
Levi, Jim Oggand Ben Wolf.
Thom Guthrie, Technical
Director of the Center’s
