Little League Auxiliary To Sell Candy For Stand
The Bellaire Little League
(Women’s) Auxiliary is hard at
work preparing for the coming
Little League baseball season.
The ladies will first promote
a candy sale March 14 through
April 10. They will then make
ready and staff the Little League
concession stand now being re-
modeled by the dads and
coaches.
Mrs. Annabelle Chavez and
Mrs. Carolyn Henry are co-
chairmen of the Auxiliary. Mrs.
Bat Tolleson is secretary and
Mrs. Betty Fischer is handling
publicity.
The best news from thecon-
cession stand is the purchase
of a large commercial icemak-
er. To celebrate the event, the
women wish to announce that they
will reward the return of stray
baseballs with free snow cones
for the retrievers and that they
will furnish soft drinks or snow
cones free to the players and
coaches after each ball game.
The women point out that these
free refreshments provided for
the teams will eliminate the team
parents burden of bringing re-
freshments and in return the
Auxiliary is asking for all the
volunteer help possible in staff-
ing the concession stand.
All volunteers will be asked
to procure a health card from
the mobil health unit from South-
west Laboratory of Medicine,
6420 Hillcroft, to be brought to
Bellaire in March.
The Auxiliary will then con-
duct a familiarization tour of the
stand for the new workers. The
time and place for the examin-
ation and tour will be announced
as soon as possible.
