Evergreen Scouts Hold Last Meeting Of Year

Lechnar opened the meet
ing with ihe following an
nouncements: financial re-
ports are due May 29;
reminder to organizers to
survey respective schools;
and encouragement to new
troop leaders to take level
training. Day Camp bro-
chures were available and
requests from Council for
help.
Audrey Stone was then
asked to report on the
Brownie Junior Day at Horn
Bark. It was a great success
with the fathers, who were
honored, joining in the spirit
of competition with their
daughters in all games and
sctivit ies.
Besides helping with this
outing, the Evergreen
Neighborhood recognized
Stone on her most recent
accomplishment. She re-
cently has become one of
only three instructors in the
Houston area for the Amer-
ican Camping Association.
A.C.A. is the organization of
professional camping with
emphasis on conservation
and skills on living in the
out-of-doors. She completed
her instructors' course at
Rocky River Ranch in Wim
berly, Texas. Stone has
been Brownie, Junior and
Cadette Scout Leader, has
been involved in day camps
and neighborhood campouts.
In February, she became
Vice Chairman of the Neigh-
borhood.
With refreshments every
one wished each other a
happy summer.
Suzuki Violinists
Student Violinists Give Concert
The Cunningham Elemen
lary Suzuki Violins per-
formed Thursday, May 18 at
7:30 p.m. at West University
Baptist Church, 6218 Auden.
The students performed
for approximately one hour.
Their May concert included
selections of Bach, Handel,
Suzuki, Vivaldi and others.
The students of the Su-
zuki method at Cunningham
are between five years and
eleven years old. They were
accompanied by pianist Pat

Shenandoah Civic Club will
be held on Wednesday, May
24, at 8 p.m. at the home of
the president, Sara Cizek,

borhood Cooperative Pro-

has been named a Special
Representative with United
Fidelity Life Insurance
Company and will specialize
in life insurance sales and
service with the Company.
Hobart Arthur Hunter of
15318 Colwyn in Houston is
the newly-appointed Uniter.
He will work from offices
located at 4562 Bissonnet in
Bellaire.
Hunter has had previous
sales experience and served
a tenure with the United
States Navy. He is married
and active in the Masonic
Lodge.
