SENIOR GIRL SCOUTS
HONOR MISS GUENTHER
On Monday the local Girl Scouts
of which Irene Guenther has been
a faithful member since she was
eleven years old, entertained with
a "pantry shower" in her honor.
After thirty-seven guests had
arrived at an appointed hour, "A
Market Day Relay," "A Marsh-
mallow Race" and "A Life-Saver
Race" were played. After each
guest had made an animal out of
jelly beans and toothpicks and win-
ners determined a j Catherine Eck,
Alyne Borehers and Earline Stro-
bel, Irene was to follow the rain-
bow, which was all colors of crepe
paper hung around the hall and
she thus searched for the pot of
gold at the end of the rainbow,
where she found many lovely
gifts.
After Irene had opened all the
gifts, she was asked to lead the
guests downstairs, where a long
table was decorated with a large
umbrella hanging upside down
from the ceiling, with crepe paper
rain drops falling down touch-
ing the table, centered with an ar-
rangement of daisises. The length
of the table depicted a scene of va-
rious phases a scout passed
through from intermediate stage
to that of a bride. Rainbow color-
ed napkins on which small cello-
phane umbrellas, made by the Se-
