Denison has a citizen, or did have
up to two years ago, who persist-

no doubt could have secured one by
making application. He was and
still is a poor mao, but he took the
position that he was not crippled in

Capt. Dan Webster, who com-

the ‘’rebellion” with distinction.
The captain now resides in the state

For years the Yaqui Indians of
Sonora, Mexico, have possessed a
vegetable compound which is be-

always been ready to apply the

secret. Recently, however. Dr. J.
S. Bell, of Hermosillo, succeeded
in obtaining the formula, and will
probably soon put tbe remedy on

Oare far Diphtheria.
As several cases of diphtheria
have been reported among the chil-
dren ot this section of the state late-
ly, the following receipt tor its cure
which the Scientific American says
the whole world ought to know,
should be given the widest publicity
by the local press:
‘‘At the first indication of diph-
theria in the throat of a child make
the room close, then take a tin cup
and pour into it a quantity of tar
and turpentine, equal parts. Then
hold tke cup over a fire, so as to fill
the room with the fumes. Tbe
little patient on inhaling the fumes
will cough and spit up all the mem-
branous matter, and the diphtheria
will pass out. The- fumes ot the
tar and turpentine loosen the matter
ia the throat and thus afford the re-
lief that has baffled the skill of
physicians.”
