colored man. The wound of Nel-
son nearly proved fatal, as the jugu-
lar vein was just missed.
Mrs. Viola Alien, who is visiting
here from Fort Scott, Kss . is quite
ill with the grip. Her butband has
been sent for.
A wholesale grocery bouse is be-
ing erected at Durant.
It is said that the stingiest people
in Denison ere the most liberal pat-
rons of the races.
A lad by tbe name of Charley El-
lis was brought in from the country
to be treated tor snake bite.
The bird dog of J. F. Robinson
was attacked by a bull dog yester-
day end literally killed by piece-
meal. Mr. Robinson very properly
killed the bull dog and was pre-
pared to whip the owner. A bull
dog should not be permitted to run
