ed in the city, find* time to devote
to fine hogs and poultry and Is profit-
ing by careful breeding. He showed
some very pretty Duroc Jersey pigs
that would have been prize-winners
in any show.
| Secretary Larkin states that some
dissatisfaction on the part of country
exhibitors was occasioned by the en-
try of town stock, but inasmuch as
nothing appeared In the prize list
barring such stock, such entries could
not be ruled out by the judge, in
stock shows previously held there has
been a printed rule to the effect that

Mrs. Nancy J. Cornell, aged 77,
died Wednesday night at 10:30 at
her home on the Barry farm, five
miles southwest of this place. Death
came after an attack of pneumonia,
from which she had suffered for three

The disposition of the people to
improve their slock was evidenced by
the splendid showing of young stock,
there being some aplendid specimens
of dairy stock in the young male and
heifer classes, which were well filled.
In addition to the prize-winners al-
ready mentioned L. J. Nassoy and
W. S. Barrett entered some young
stock that deserve creditable men-
tion. Mr. Barrett also showed some
nice Poland China pigs, aa did also
W. A. Winford.
Though the extreme cold weather
kept many exhibitors away, the show
was such as to fill every available
stall and pen. Had tbe weather been
more favorable the question of provid-
ing for the exhibits would have been
a problem.
On account of the cold the milk
testing and separating demonstrations
were abandoned, but It waa decided
to hold this in connection with the
March show. A suitable building will
be secured for the purpose and in con-
nection with the demonstration, Mr.
Moser has consented to deliver a lec-
ture on the handling of milk and
cream, explaining methods of testing,
herd records, etc. Arrangements have
been made for all necessary machin-
ery for this demonstration and every
effort will be made to make It Instruc-
tive for the people who are anxious
to learn more about the dairy busl-

Joe llileman of Sedalia, came in
yesterday and went to Sherman to at-
tend the burjal of his brother-in-law,
Ben Brewer, whose death occurred at
Caddo. Okla. Mr. Brewer formerly
lived near thin place. He was a broth-
er to Mrs. Zeiih Binlon of the Pilot
Grove community.

Joe Burning and wife came down
