Ceremony Unites
Wallace, Angell
Baskets of Urge white mums
and greenery formed the back-
ground for the wedding of Miss
Joyce Wallace to Clifford Angell
at 4 p m. Sunday in the First Bap-
tist Church.
The bride is the daughter of
lira. Esther Wallace and the
groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs.
V. L Angell.
The Rev. A. F. Ruaeell officiated
at the ceremony. Mrs. Francis Cos
was organist. The soloist, Wayne
Fisher of Waco, presented the
selections "Because" and “The
Lord's Prayer."
Gown Of Lace And Satin
Given in marriage by her mo-
ther, the bride wore a gown fash-
ioned of lace and satin. The foil
skirt was formed with tiers of Uoe
and tulle over satin. A fitted bo-
dice of Uce featured a bateau
neckline and tapered sleeves.
Uer veil of illusion was caught
by a pearl tiara.
Miss Ann Wimberly of El Campo
was maid of honor and brides-
maids were Mrs. Charles Rich-
ards, Waco and Miss Thelma Gil-
bert, Houston.
Attendants Wear Red Gowns
Attendants princess style dresses
were fashioned of red chiffon vel-
vet. They carried cascade bou-
quets of small white mums.
John Duncan of Waco served as
best man. Groomsmen were Clyde
Wallace and Bob Balhorn. Bentley
Hause and Ernest Dodd were ush-
ers.
Deborah Boedeker, the miniature
bride, wore a dress of lace and
tulle fashioned as the bride's. David
Boedeker was the miniature
groom.
A reception in the education
building of the church immediately
followed the ceremony.
Cake Centers Table
The bride's table was covered
wRh white net over satin and cen-
tered by a three tier cake topped
with a miniature bride and groom.
Mrs. C. K. Tidwell of El Campo
aerved the cake and Mrs. William
R. Adams of College Statioo pour-
ed. Mrs. Leon Noack of Rockdale
was In charge of the guest book.
Others in the houteparty were
Misses Theodora Henderson. Mari-
anne Jones, Linda Ethridge and
Peggy Mann.
The bride's mother chose a two
piece dress of powder blue for the
wedding. Mrs. Angell was attired
in a coffee-colored two piece dress.
For the short wedding trip the
bride wore a grey suit with black
accessories.
Yee High Graduate*
The bride is a graduate of Yoe
High School and is presently em-
ployed at Citizens National Bank.
Mr. Angell is a Yoe High School
graduate and attended Wharton
Junior College. He is presently en-
gaged in farming and ranching.
The couple will be at home at
704 East 14th in Cameron,

Delphian Club members and their
guests last week on “Keeping Up
With Our Civil Defense Program.-'

WSCS Studies Societies Organization
In Circle Meetings Monday Afternoon
Members of the First Methodist Church WSCS
met in circles Monday afternoon. The program was a
study of the organization of Womens Society of Christ-
ian Service, local through national.
Mrs. Bill Bums was hostess for the McKee circle
with Mrs. Bob Foster leading the program.
The Bonds circle met with Mrs. Rush Thomas. Mrs.
John B. Henderson lead the study and was assisted
by Mr- Niley Smith and Mrs. A. W. McCullin.
Mrs. W. A. L. Robinson presented the program for
the Criswell circle. She was assisted by Mrs. Janie B-
Rawls and Mrs. Winnie Wittliff. Mrs. Roy Baskin
was hostess for the group at her home.
The Terry circle met with Mrs- Julian Baskin. Mrs.
Walter Sharp gave the program assisted by Mrs. Em-
ma Barron, Mrs. R. A. Tag, Mrs. D. H- Slaughter
and Mrs. 0. B. Horstmann-

ness meeting in the absence of the
club president, Mrs. R. L. Batte,
Sr.
Smith spoke to the dub on the
need for an active civil defense
program and showed three films
to dramatize this need. He was
introduced by program chairman,
Mrs. .J C. Freeman.
Mrs. W. R. Newton, Sr., review-
ed her study on “Is Our Military
Defense Adequate."
Following the program, refresh-
ments were served from a table
centered with an arrangement of
red carnations and white phlox
flanked by red hearts. Assisting in
the service were Mrs. George
Childress, Mrs. Alvin Roberts and
Mrs. J. E. Flinn.
Monthly Meeting
For Homemakers
The First Baptist church Home-
maker Sunday School class met
February 4 in the Education Build-
ing at the church for their regular
meeting and a covered dish lunch-
eon.
Mrs. John Ryan, vice-president,
presided during the business meet-
ing in the absence of the club pre-
sident, Mrs S. M. Harrell.
The devotional was given by
Mrs. Dan Gunn. Mrs. C. E. Curtis
gave the closing prayer.
Ten members and two visitors,
John Hause and Martha Poll-
ard, enjoyed the covered dish lun-
cheon and social hour following
the meeting. \
Sweet Sixteen Party
Fetes Miss Fischer
On 16th Birthday
A “Sweet Sixteen” birthday
party honored Miss LaVelle Fisc-
her Saturday at her home in Buek-
holts.
Hostesses were the honorees
mother, Mrs, Edwin Fischer, and
her Aunt, Mrs. Ed O. Pagel.
Floral arrangements of narciss-
us and daffodils were placed th-
roughout the party rooms. The re-
freshment table was covered with
a linen cutwork cloth and held a
three tiered birthday cake decora-
ted with yellow and blue trim.
Misses Bernice Fischer, Beverly
May, Evelyn Glaser and Carolyn
Mikush led the party games.
Refreshments of dip triangles,
cake and punch were served to the
twenty-five guests.
OES Members Attend
Temple Instruction
Mesdames Grace Reid, Mabel
Dodson, Virginia Sanders, and Mil-
dred Covey of Cameron attended
a school of instruction of the Order
of Eastern Star, District 3, Sec-
tion 8, in Temple.
The program was held at the
Masonic Hall February 8,
The group also attended an open
house honoring Mrs. Ruby Enloe,
worthy grand matron, at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Janeway in
Temple. Mrs. Janeway is grand
sentinel of the OES, Grand Chap-
ter of Texas.
Mrs. O’Neil Hosts
Milano HD Club
The Milano Home Demonstra-
tion Club met in the Milano Home-
making room with ten ladies pre-
sent. Each lady answered roll call
by reciting her favorite Bible ver-
se.
President Mrs, Lou Gregory read
the council recommendations. The
group discussed, voted and passed
the recommendations.
The next meeting will be Feb-
ruary 20 with Mrs. Lou Gregory
as hostess.
Refreshments were served by
the hostess. Mrs. Katie O’Neil.
Girl Scout Leaders
Elect New Officers
Mrs. Bill Burns was hostess for
the Girl Scout Leaders Associa-
tion February 3 at her home.
The following association offi-
cers were elected for the year
Mrs. Bill Burns, president, Mrs
Mrs. Earle Pearson, vice presi
dent, Mrs. S. D. Ripley, secretary
treasurer, and Mrs. Charles Mad
dox, scribe.
Refreshments of coffee and ko-
laches were served to 13 mem-
bers following the business meet-
ing.
Mrs. Eula McCall, Mrs. Clara
Laxson and children, and Mrs.
Billy McCall, all of Jacksonville,
visited Mrs. Eula Curtis in Came-
ron, and W. S. and Warren Mc-
Call in Yarrellton recently.
Mrs. O. H. Reynolds, 1605 Cleve-
land, has been undergoing treat-
ment in a Marlin hospital.
