Turkeys are one of the best sum-
mer meat buys for Southwestern
consumers
Koast turkey dinner with alt
the trimmings is always good and
roast turkey slices, cubes, strips
and chunks make dozens of dish
es. There are plenty of small size
turkeys loo. for broiling and fry-
ing.
Koast turkey Is one of the easi-
est of all meat dishes to prepare
Just place the turkey, breast side
up. on a rack in an open shallow
pan. Do not add water. For beau-
tiful golden browning, cover the
bird loosely with a clean white
cloth dipped in melted butter, mar
garine or bacon drippings Roast
in a moderate gas oven (325 de-
grees F.) according to size.
Six to 10-pound birds take 3V4
to 4>4 hours. 10 to 14 pound birds
take 4V* to 5'* hours and 12 to 16

For Mrs. McClendon
Funeral services were held to
a m. Saturday for Mrs Alice B
McClendon, long-time Ben Arnold
resident, at Green Funeral Home
The Rev. IS. J. Davis, pastor ol
the First Methodist Church, offici-
ated at the services. Interment
tollowed in Ben Arnold Cemetery.
Mrs McClendon died Thursday
afternoon in Fort Worth following
a two-year illness.
She is survived by four sons,
Homer, For Worth, Marvin,
Beaumont. Earl, Montgomery,
Ala., and Bill, Fort Worth

until gelatin if dissolved Slowly add Car-
nation to mayonnaise in bow), stirring con-
stantly. Add lemon juice and dissolved
gelatin. Fold In remaining ingredients.
Blend well. Spoon into 1'4-quart mold.
Chill until firm (about 2 hour*). Unmold
and lerv# on salad greena.
