Goff teams hopeful
entering Round 2
Sweetwater High School’s golf teams are still in contention to
go to the regional tournament entering the second round of their
District 2-3A tournaments.
The Sweetwater boys, who hosted the first leg Wednesday, are
in fourth place with a 324 total, 25 back of Graham's 299. Snyder
is in second place (313), while the Graham No. 2 team (321) is
currently in third place. Only the top two teams go to regionals.
Sweetwater’s Ryan Mercer is tied for first place among med-
alists with a 72. lie is tied for first with Johnny Antle of Graham
and Brownwood’s Tyler Patillo after the opening round.
Also for Sweetwater, Cameron Lawrence shot 79 to tie for 12th
place among medalists while Jake Lawrence shot 86, Kameron
Pugh 87 and Cameron Studdard 97.
Sweetwater’s No. 2 team is in eighth place in the team stand-
ings with a 356 total. Matt Hord shot an 85, Dylan Torres had 88,
Jace Bentle 91, Clint Jay 92 and Bowie Lee 95. The second leg of
the three-leg, 54-hole tourney will be played Monday at Graham.
Sweetwater’s girls, who went to Breckenridge for Round 1, are
in fifth place with a 383 total. Sarah Cumbie’s 91 leads Sweetwa-
ter while Jordan Graham had 94, Kaila Boggs 98, Jodie May too
and Kendra Chowning no.
Snyder (349) leads the team standings, followed by Graham
(364), Wylie (367) and Snyder’s No. 2 team (382). Graham’s No.
2 team is sixth (398) and Sweetwater No. 2 is seventh with a 405.
Sweetwater No. 2’s individual scores came from Katie High (92 ),
Alex Gomez (102), Leila Rubio (103), Angela Virgen (108) and
Sarah Witt (no).
The second leg of the tournament will be played on Tuesday at
Wylie.
Resented tickets for ‘09
season up for renewal
beginning on April 13
Reserved Sweetwater High School season football tickets for
the 2009 season are up for renewal to current option holders
starting Monday, April 13.
The option period will conti-nue through Friday, May t.
Tickets may be purchased at the Sweetwater ISD administra-
tion office on 207 Musgrove on Monday through Thursday from
8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Tickets are $30 each for five home games.
Tickets to the general public may be purchased from Aug. 3-21.
File summer hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to
3:30 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to noon.
The first home football game of the 2009 season will be on
Sept. 11 against Monahans beginning at 7:30 p.m.

SNYDER — Baseball is considered a warm- as the Tigers scored 13 more runs in the second

The Sweetwater High School
boys track team had two first-
place relays and scored 52
points for a fifth-place overall
finish when they competed at
Graham’s Possum Kindom
Relays recently.
The 4 x too relay of A.J.
McCoy, Kenneth Norman, Bo
Bugarin and Jacob Blueford
won their event with a team of
44.13 seconds, while the same
four runners were on the 4 x
200 relay that had a winning
time of 1:33.32.
McCoy was second in the 100
dash with a time of 11.17 sec-
onds. Also getting points was
B.J. Walker, who was fourth in
the 200 with a time of 24.76
seconds.

Kingdom Relays in Graham.
Shelton was first in the triple
jump (33-11 1/2), and also was
second in the long jump (16-8
3/4) and third in the 300 hur-
dles (47.16) while running a leg
on the third-place 800 relay,
which was timed in 1:49.75.
The other runners on the relay
were Jayci Shelton, Morgan
Young and Kinsey Browning.
Also, Jayci Shelton placed
fourth in the 200 dash (27.68)
and Sweetwater's 1600 relay of
Jayci Shelton, Morgan Shel-
ton, Young and Browning was
sixth with a time of 4:20.04.

Renovations are nearing completion in the Emergency Department
at Cogdell Memorial Hospital. Once complete there will be a separate
entrance for emergency services and the main hospital. This will
allow medical staff to provide quicker and more efficient services to
our patients.
Upon completion the following changes will take place: The Admit-
ting desk, located in the main lobby, will be staffed from 7:00am
- 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. Customers coming in to register
for outpatient testing, surgery, etc. will need to enter through the
main lobby during these hours of operation. Registration for outpa-
tient services after normal hours of operation will take place in the
Emergency Department.
Visiting hours for family and friends of patients will remain between
the hours of 8:00am - 9:00pm, seven days a week. On weekends and
after the hours of 9:00pm on weekdays, visitors will need to go to
the Emergency Department to request a visitor’s pass.
The staff of Cogdell Memorial Hospital thanks our patients and visi-
