AN ATTRACTIVE PROGRAM
was played yesterday between Albu-
querque and Santa F«. and a tele-
gram late yesterday afternoon from
Albuquerque stated that Albuquerque
had won the game by a score of 4
to 1.
The Times will receive special re-
poits of the results of the games
played.
The baseball feature, although to
some wil! be a drawing card, will not
be the whole show by any means and
every visitor to the fair will find
sum-thing to his liking, be he child or
patriarch. This is guaranteed by the
almost endless variety of amusements
that have been provided by the man-
agement of the fair and no matter
what a man’s inclinations are he will
be provided entertainment in that di-
rection. The program includes every-
thing from an irrigation convention
to horse racing. Below is the
gram in full:

OVER 100 RAILROAD TICKETS SOLD
That the Albuquerque fair will he
as popular with and as well attended
by the people of El Paso as has been
anticipated is proven by the fact that
yesterday, the opening day of the fair,
the re was over one hundred railroad
tickfrtE sold over the Santa Fe to El
Paso’s enterprising neighbor to the
north.
Tit:: li t of attractions at the fair
is r,i.;:_ual!y large an t alluring, and
to 1. crowded into six short days will
veritably produce a condition where
there will "be something doing every
minute.”
The El Paso baseball team left last
night for the scene of activity amid a
blaze of g|ory of their past accom-
plishments and an anticipation of fu-
ture ones. There was a large and
enthusiastic crowd of local fanatics
down at the Santa Fe depot to hid
them godspeed and extend their well
wishes for the success of the team
on Its northern cruise.
The lineup of the team in the first
game will be as follows: Markley.
c; Bateman, p; Krause, lb: Jacoby,
2b: King, 3b; Hackett, ss; Young,
cf: Bedford, if; Andreas, if.
Unfortunately Adams, tho Ameri-
can league pitcher, was unable to
i arh here in time to accompany the
Nationals last night, being detained
for some reason, but he lias wired the
management of the team that he will
join -them hr- Albuquerque and it is
expected that he will arrive in time
for the second game and (hey are
sdre that when he does come that
lie will make himself felt.
The National team is allowed eleven
men at the Albuquerque games, hut
as it now stands they will only have
ten when Adams arrives. The cause
of this is a slight misunderstanding
with some of the players. It was the
intention of the management to take
Alien as one of the men, but. when
the subject was broached to him he
refused to go because several of the
other players were dropped and he
consequently preferred to be left be
bind.
