A color scheme Of pink and green
was carried out with quantities of
southern smitax, pink roses and pink
carnations. The doorways, chande-
liers. staircase and mantles were
trimmed and hanked with the green
and vases and bowls of the flowers
were scattered throughout the rooms.
In the diningroom the center table
was covered with a large cluny laco
cloth over pink and in the middle
was a cut glass vase of pink rosea
glass candlesticks held pink-shaded I
candles and the southern smllax was
strewn over the cloth and draped the I
chandelier above. At one aide or the I
room was the punch table which was I
also covered with a cluny lace cloth I
and the cut glass punch bowl was I

their wives of the Twenty-third In-
fantry had their annual regimental
banquet at Fort Bliss. The cable was
decorate with vases and baskets of
violets and narcissus and lighted by
twenty-three candles in glass sticks.
The arches between the room were,
festooned with mistletoe and behind
the seat of the regimental comman-
der. Colonel TO, F. Glenn, was a trans-
parency of the eoat-of-arms of the
regiment and at the opposite end of
the table the national and regimen-
etal colors were hung. The place-

Mesdames M. B. Gaylord and Bye
do H. Clemons entertained a number
of ladies of Calvary Baptist church
on Friday afternoon at the home of
the former on Nevada street. The
afternoon was spent in sewing for
the bazaar to be given on Dec. 15.
Misses Irene and Lila Gaylord ren-
dered several vocal solos during the
afternoon and Miss Ural Van Deusen
gave two Instrumental selections.
Refreshments were served by the
hostess at the conclusion of the sew-
ing. •

had a meeting combining business
and. pleasure Tuesday evening. Ths
Woman's Home Jlisalon society, un-
der the auspices of Mrs. R. E. Bryan,
served a turkey dinner In the chureh
basement. The table was resplend-
ent with carnations, ferns, cuut glass
and silver. The banquet was highly
enjoyed by all and a very enthusi-
