The fourth day of the poultry shoiy
closed with all the prizes having been
-Awarded. C. P. Van Winkle, judge of
the exhibitions, said that he had never
seen a finer class of tjtrds on exhibit
in any place the size of El Paso and
that only In Chicago and other large
cities had he seen it surpassed. The
show will be kept open over Sunday
for the benefit of those who have been
unable to attend this week.

holidays the law mill has about ceas-
ed grinding. Only one opinion was
handed down yesterday and no new
suits were file In either the thirty-
fourth or forty-first district courts.
In the forty-first district court
yesterday the case of Hiltgardner vs.
the Texas & Pacific railway was de-
cided In favor of the plaintiff. The
suit was for property damages and
(he court awarded the plaintiff $2,-
681.70.

ing for the building of an eight-room
house In Golden Hill addition on the
corner of Arizona and Rampert
streets. The house will cost $7,000.
It will be built in the Spanish mis-

from the Mountain Bide Realty com-
pany to bplld a nine-room houuse in
the Goldeh Hill addition. The house
will be of the Swiss chalet style of
architecture, and will occupy four
lots. The contract price for this
house is $84)00.

Jotin A. Wlnram Returns With Some
Samples of Rich Ore.
John A. Winram. of El Paso, has
ju»t returned from the Black Range
west of Engle station, N. M„ on the
Santa Fe railway, and has brought
samples of ore from the bottom of
his property called the Mail Line. He
has sunk the shaft to a depth of 120
feet and report* he has a continu-
ous pay-streak eighteen inches wide
carrying copper glance and silver.
This ore, he says, averages forty per
cent copper and carrtes high silver
values. The vein is a strong fissure
over eight feet in width, the vein
being white quartz with disseminated
silver-copper sulphides of varying
richness.
