and west, and HO miles wide, con-

ditions and the crops grown are
Ideal for the raising of poultry
and the cheap production of eggs.
The business men of Hereford have
siKtnsored a poultry show each
year which has stimulated the In-
terest of the farmers In wanting
good breeds. The show last year
: was the third largest In the state,
043 birds being shown. The show
is under the supervision of the
Amerlcun Poultry Association and
A. P. A. Judges are used. Each
show’ has been commended by the
Judges ns to the high quality of
the birds shown.
Hereford is the county seat of
Deaf Smith county. It Is located
on the main line of the Santa Fe
Railway and on Federal Highway
No. 00, which Is now being Im-
proved ns a hard surfaced road.

interesting extra curricular activi-
