YOUR DIET AND YOUR
TEETH
Q. I read somewhere that my diet
has a lot to do with my dental
health. How exactly?
A. A balanced diet of fresh fruit,
leafy green vegetables, meal and
grains provides the teeth and
gums with the physical exercise
they need to stay strong and also
supply your body with the nutri-
ents that arc important for dental
health.
Of course, diet alone is not
enough. It’s important to get reg-
ular checkups and cleanings by
your dentist, brush your teeth
(and tongue) at least twice a day
with a soft toothbrush and floss
daily.
