A sly coon, a descendent from
Ham, ripped a pair of shoes from
the boot and shoe store of Ed.
Vieno yesterday evening. He en-
tered the store of H. B. Mistrot &
Co., with* the shoes upon his arm
and asked Willie Bowen the price
of some calico, after examining it
asked permission to pass out the
back door of the store. His pecu-
liar actions attracted the attention
of Willie Bowen, who sat watch on
his coonship, also sending to Mr.
Vieno to know ifhe had missed a
pair of shoes. This he certainly
did, and in a few minutes was up-
on the theif. The shoes were teft
at the post-office cigar store, but
were forthwith handed over when
confronted by Mr. Vieno. The en-
gro was locked up.
