Facilities on agenda
for trustees tonight
Facilities repairs and improve-
ments are on tonight’s agenda for
Port Aransas school trustees.
The meeting will be at 7 p.m. in
the high school library and tne pub-
lic is invited.
In addition to several facilities
repairs and improvements itemized
on the agenda, Mary Lynn Magee
will make a presentation to trustees
regarding replacement of the por-
table classrooms used at the elemen-
tary and middle schools. Magee, a
parent and a taxpayer, will make
her presentation under Mcomments
from the public" at the beginning of
the meeting. Discussion of the other
improvements and repairs comes
later on in the meeting.
Among the facilities projects tar-
geted are installation or a backstop
and dugout fencing on the Little
League Field; roof and door re-
pairs; the outdoor basketball court
at the middle school; enclosure of
the art room at the high school; and
a driveway, parking and extended
canopy at the elementary school.
Among other items on the agenda
are
• renewal of teachers’ contracts.

• Someone drove off without paying for gas at an Alister Street conve-
nience store, be* >he new clerk didn't know to call police until the next shift

March 9
• At 7 p.m. an on duty deputy waa the first to arrive at a condominium on
State Highway 361 whereaguettwashavingaheartauack. He began CPR
and continued until relieved by EMS personnel.
• A routine traffic stop on Alister Street resulted in an arrest for driving
while intoxicated.
March 13
• At 10 a.m. the top part of a bathing suit was shoplifted from an Avenue
O and Alister Street business by a young woman who had attempted the
same thing at a nearby store.
• A Port Aransas youth who had run away was returned to ha parents after
deputies found ha at the Rockport Beach at about 3 p.m.
• Several minor theft reports were taken from local citizens throughout the

officers chased the car down, and when the suspect began to (lee the car
on foot, he was tackled by a TABC officer and arrested. All of this
occurred in about five minutes.
March 14
• A family disturbance ata Station Street address ended with a male subject
being arrested fa threats to do bodily harm at 1 a.m.
• Overnight, two vehicles were burglarized in the 200 block of Avenue F.
Tapes and stereo equipment were taken.
• Overnight, a vehicle parked at an Aliita Street lodging facility had its
tires slashed. In a separate incident, a car's from window was broken while
parked at a condominium on Highway 361.
• Numerous traffic stops resulted in the arrest of several minors in
possession of alcohol and drug paraphernalia.

A sanctioned chill cook-off this
spring will benefit the VFW building
fund, said VFW Post 8967 Com-
manda Travis Bishop.
The cook-off,at Roberts Point Pail,
will be Saturday. April 10.
