THE SEEING EYE.
I know a man who has lived on
one farm half a century. He sleeps
in the room in which he was born,
in the dark. Yet his lambs and his
pigs, the velvety roll of new sprout- |

has watched for years—all are new '
to him each day. I have seen him

Washington Physician Is Divorced and
Married Again in One
* Day.
Within 24 hours after a Philadel-
phia court granted n divorce to Mrs.
Katharine Saeger liovee, her erst- ■
while husband, Dr. J. Wesley Bovee. |
a well-known Washington physician,
married at Auburn, X. Y., Mrs. Car-
oline Copley Wcniple. The news of
Dr. Bovee’s second marriage was a
surprise, hut the granting of a di-
vorce to Mrs. Bovee was no'surprise.
as she and Dr. Bovee had been sepa-
rated since 1907.
She brought suit for divorce in j
the District of Columbia supreme j
court, declaring Dr. Bovee had ex-1
eluded her from his home, and that
during their separation he reduced
her monthly allowance from $300 to i
'12o. Dr. Bovee. through his uttor- I
nevs, stated that when the facts wen I
known right thinking people would :
absolve him from all blame.
Mrs. Bovee failed to obtain judg-;
ment in the District of Columbia, j
and later began action in Philadel-
phia, where an absolute divorce was
granted and the papers ill the case j
ordered impounded.
HOME A DANGEROUS PLACE.
A man who, despite the fart that
he has several grandchildren, is still
fond of his clnb and the pleasures
which lie beyond the domestic circle,
said in defense of his weakness that
he went out to prolong his life “and
to avoid dangers.” “According to
a table recently published by an ac-
cident insurance company,” he said,
“more than one-quarter of the acci-
dents “happen at home,’ ” and in
proof of the statement he showed
this statistical record of accidents:
At home, 25.9 per cent.; pedestrians,
18.2; motor cars, 11.1; recreation,
11; horses and vehicles, 9.9; on
street ears, 7.2; railway trains, 4.3;
bicycles, 1.2; steamship travel, 1;
