over the St. Joseph’s Eagles in
Bryan, giving the Mustangs a
4-1 season record.
This was the second time
that the Mustangs defeated
Bryan. Early in October they
met on Trojan Field, and the
Mustangs came from behind to
win. 20-19.
Sunday in Bryan the Eagles
took an early 15-6 lead, but
dashing runs by Bobby Urban-
ovsky, who scored two TDs and
added the extra points, put the
Mustangs ahead 20-15 just be-
fore half-time.
Urbanovsky’s first talley
came on a 47-,vard keeper play
that was a dandy. Then Rich-
ard Cernosek scored on a 2-yard
plunge early in the second quar-
ter. Tommy Holacek scored the
third mustang TD when he
rammed over tackle for 4 yards.
Bobby Urbanovsky scored the
extra points.
St. Joseph’s came back in the
third quarter, hut determined
defensive play by David Thed-
ford, Dennis Kutscherousky,
Bobby Urbanovsky, Michael
Pareya, Richard Cernosek, Tom-
my Holacek, Tim Snokhous,
Ted Kocian and Mark Adamson
halted the drive, when the
Mustangs recovered a fumble.
Bobby Urbanovsky scored the
final touchdown for the Mus-
tangs on a keeper that fooled
the entire Eagle defense. He
scored standing up, on a 9-yard
run. The Mustangs kicked off
again to the Eagles and held
them for no gain as the final
seconds ticked off the clock.
Reicher Defeats
Jr. Trojans 6-0
The West Junior Trojans lost
their first game of the season to
Reicher Junior High in Waco
last Thursday night. It was a
close 6-0 battle and was the
first win of the season for the
Reicher juniors.
Both teams marched up and
down the field, but when they
neared the goal line, the de-
fense would take over.
The Little Trojans missed two
excellent scoring opportunities,
once a major pealty halted
the drive, and the second time
they gave up the ball on a fum-
ble.
The score at half-time was
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nocknr j o-o. In the third quarter Reich-

(Continued from Page 1)
From opening kick-off until
late in the first quarter, it was
an exchange of punts and
fumbles. Then with 24 seconds
left in the initial period Shaw
broke loose for 25 yards and a
score. Eddie Klish’s kick was
wide to the left and the Tro-
jans led 6-0.
Dublin was forced to punt to
West after three tries. The
Trojans in turn drove to the 45,
where a punt was put into ef-
fect. Again the Trojans held,
and a Lion punt was returned
24 yards by Howard to the
Dublin 31.
Mynarcik and Shaw moved
the ball to the two. On third
down, Howard got the call and
on a plunge up the center hit
pay dirt. Girard passed to Whit-
tington for the extra points and
a 14-0 lead at half-time.
Another scoreless quarter
passed before Mashek added six
more points with his long run.
With 7:51 left in the game,
Mynarcik capped a 36-yard
drive with a two-yard score. The
pass for extra points failed.
Dublin again failed to net any
yardage, and punted. The Tro-
jans took the kick and drove to j
the 16, where time ran out and |
the Trojans had completed a
sweep of the home games.

November Rainfall
Totals 25 Inch
What is winter like in Texas?
Soggy. Messy. Gloomy.
At least that is the way it has
been this week. Just the oppo-
site of the reports the Central
Texas Chamber of Commerce
would like northern tourists to
read.
It hasn’t rained enough to get
excited about, .22 of an inch,
this week — not much moisture
when you take into account that
it has been raining steadily
since Monday.
Last Friday was clear, but
cold, and West had a good frost.
Football fans at the game Fri-
day night in spite of blankets
game early complaining of
freezing ears and frost-bitten
fingers and toes. Saturday was
clear and warmer, but Sunday
the clouds came back. Monday it
began drizzling, and at press
time Thursday conditions re-
main the same.
The scores of hunters leaving
town for the opening of deer
and turkey season, Saturday,
certainly hope the stationary
front that has caused this
weather, moves on, and the
sooner the better.
November rainfall now totals
.25 of an inch, with .03 on Nov.
1; .03 on Nov. 6; o07 on Nov. 7,
and .12 on Nov. 9.
