Council Revises Ordinance Letters to Santa
During the City
Council meeting Tues-
day night the council
heard the auditor, John
W. Jones, tell them that
according to his audit
all accounting standards
were followed by the
city and that nothing
was wrong with the re-
cords of the city.
The item that brought
most of the discussion
during the meeting was
the changing of the
Animal Control Ordi-
nance. The approved
changes requires that
vaccination tags be
permanently attached to
collars and on the dogs
at all times for all dogs
within the city limits.
Also a vaccination cer-
tificate will be required
to be kept by the owner
of dogs within the city
limits. The humane of-
ficer was also impowered
to issue citations to
dog owners who violate
provisions of the ordi-
nance. The council
stressed the aim of the
ordinance was to get
all dogs within Cedar
Hill vaccinated.
A sewer extension
on Donna Drive was ap-
proved. The estimated
cost was $7000 to
$9000.
Helen Gates, Jim
Walters and George
Walters were - re-ap-
pointed to the Park
Board.
The council is at-
tempting to find people
to serve on the seven
member Library Board
to be appointed at the
next meeting. Anyone
interested in being a
member of the board is
urged to contact a city
councilman or call the
City Hall.
A thirteen day exten-
sion was granted to
Kemp Construction on
their contract with the
city for the Dallas Water
line. The extension
was granted for the de-
lays caused by weather.
The assessments for
the sewer lines being
installed on Kingswood
and Tower Drives will
be explained to those
borne owners involved
in the near future ac-
cording to the city
manager.
The city council was
advised not to pass a
resolution calling for a
study on a home rule
charter until the popu-
lation could be set at
5000. A formula of 3.33
residents for each water
meter is being used to
determine the population.
At b ast 1502 water
meters will be required
to establish the popu-
lation at 5000 plus.
There are now 1470
water meters in the
city.
The City Hall will
be closed December 24
and 25.

The Cedar Hill Youth
Activities Association
will again sponsor bas-
ketball for boys and
girls in the third, fourth,
fifth and sixth grades.
The registration fee
has been set at $4.00
per child.
This $4,00 fee will
include a jersey. Finan-
cial aid will be provided
when needed. The fee
does not include in-
surance, This was de-
cided in order to keep
the fee as low as pos -
sible, It was also dis-
cussed that most fami-
lies had insurance and
only one would pay for
an accident or injury.
The insurance will be a
matter left up to each
family. Neither the
Cedar Hill- Youth Acti-
vities Association nor
the Cedar Hill Public
Schools will be respon-
sible^ or any accidents

It’s a great year for inno-
vative craft projects in toy-
land. Play Stone, a unique
formulation of natural clays
by the makers of Play-Doh,
which hardens in perma-
nent form without firing
and is paintable, is featured
in Cool Jewels, an ecology-
oriented jewelry making kit.
Roll-Away also uses Play
Stone to give youngsters a
new way to custom design
cars. A series of Presto-
Molder kits also uses Play
Stone to create farm ani-
mals, cars and jewelry.
Play-Doh will delight the
younger set with two new
play concepts. Kitchen Play
has molds for creating pre-
tend foods, such as turkey
and cake, plus accessories
for pretend cooking and
serving.
Gomobiles provide acces-
sories for creating silly cars
and crazy trucks with Play-
Doh forming the bodies.
Another new thrill for
young artists is the Swing-
ing Spirograph which adds
an extra design dimension
to Spirography, the unique
instant art by Kenner,
based on meshing gear
wheels.
Let us rejoice and sing a song
of gladness. It is the season of
love and peace.
