Plain Facts Correcting
A Plain Falsehaod
A number of reports have
reached us lately that a certain
party has been circ«lating a
report that we would not pub-
lish church items in our paper.
This is a malicious falsehood,
told with the intention of injur-
ing the Chronicle, and the one
who told it knew better. We
have made investigations and
found out the one who has been
telling this, and if it continues
we will publish the name of the
party who has been trying to
plant this untruth in the minds
of our friends.
We believe the following state-
ment is proof enough. Read
and judge for yourself:
The editor has noticed ihat a
man’s best friend often hate to
see him make good.
Those people who never say
what they believe will find that
no one believes what they say.
With this issue of The Chrou
icle, it has been issued by the
present management and editor
for two years. We have not
made a fortune during our stay
in Carrollton; neither have we
at any time been on the verge of
starvation. We have found that
there are many good things
about Carrollton and Carrollton
people and we have noticed that
a few things should be changed,
but that is the case in every
town, regardless of the size.
Still we would like Carrollton to
be one town that is nearly per-
fect.
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN.
We, the undersigned pastors
of Carrollton, do hereby state
that we have never been refused
the use of the columns of The
Chronicle for any church ans
nouncements during the timo we
have been in Carrollton.

It’s mainly this background of good will—earned

conducive to effortless writing—plus a rare beauty
of type and sturdiness of construction that stamps
