Carrollton School Opens
Monday, Sept. 17
There has been quite a bit of
discussion as to the term of
school that we would have for
the term of 1928-24. The state
per capita for the coming year
is $12.00 per head, and with this
amount added to the local taxes
Carrollton will be able to have
a full nine months school, that is
when each tax payer has paid all |
of his taxes, the school will be
entitled to this amount; while
the board is compelled to charge
a monthly fee on each pupil after
the transfer money expires, ‘ in
order to take care of the increase
in our school.
The Board of trustees has put
forth every effort to secure just
the kind of teacher they thought
would be best lilted for the place
selected, but if we have made a
mistake we will try to correct
it the coming year.
We hope that on the morning
school ODens that the parents
will a’l c®me to school with their
children to be sure that we get
every thing started off right, lets
all help to make this the best
school Carrollton has ever had.
The following teachers have
been selected for the coming
year:
E. L. Lowe, Superintendent
Mrs. Blajkw&ll, Primary.
Miss Myrtle Austin, Third and
Fourth,
Miss E^hel Breedlove, “Fifth
end Sixth.
Miss Clara Watson and Mr.
Gunstream, High School.

On Thursday of last week Mrs.
Harriett M. Warner reached her
seventy fifth milestone and Mrs.
J. Branamon, living at the War-
ner home her sixty seventh.
Twenty one relatives and friends
gathered at her beautiful country
borne to homage to the occasion.
A lovely birthday dinner was
enjoyed by all. Mrs. Warner is
active, cheerful and Interesting
and attends to all her own busi-
ness, always punctual at church
services in spite of her advanced
age. Mrs Branamon is also very
industrious, doing the duties of
housekeeping, chicken raising
and other things of a much
younger woman. It is the; wish
of the Chronicle and their many
friends that they live to enjoy
many other such days as last
year proved to be.

I AN GOING.
Mr. White,
Hello, Smart. I am having
trouble with my teeth again.
I have had a number of different
dentists work on them. They
don’t do me any good,
My wife told me that you and
all of your family have had only
one dentist for ten or twelve
years and that his work is per-
fectly satisfactory. Please tell
me who he is so I can go to him.
Mr. Smart:
I will be glad to. Dr. Faison
has been our dentist for years
We would go no where else. He
is a very gentle, careful and con-
scientious dentist. His instru-
ments are always thoroughly
sterilized. I am sure when you
go to Dr. Faison you will be per-
fectly satisfied with vour teeth.
His work is always good, yet he
does not charge a high fee. You
will find him over tntT Crystal
Theater. 1608 Elm Street, Dallas.
He has been there over ten years
pleasing his patrons.
Mr White:
Thank you ever so much. I
am going to him. Then I will
not be troubled with my teeth.
