Teachers Elected For
The Next School Term
The school board has selected
the teachers for the next term
of school. Instead of the seven
teachers that has been employed
for the past few years, eight
will be elected this year in ac-
cordance with instructions of
the State School Inspector's re
quest to keep our newly acquir-
ed classification.
Prof. T. P. Harris will have
charge of things educational
again next year and John Gun-,
stream, Misses Minni^ Dearing,
Ola Good and Ethel Breedlove
will still be retained. Miss Erma
Sincler, who taught here two
years ago, but who has been
taking a more advanced course
at the Baylor University, has
also been selected. The other
two teacher will be elected at an
early date.
Progress has been made by
leaps and bounds in our school
the past year and it will only be
a matter of the necessary time
until this will be an accredited
as well as classified school and it
will not be necessary to send our
children away from home to get
the benefit of the best schooling
that will be accepted by the
higher schools.
Rapid Progress Being
Hade On New Bricks
With three fast bricklayers on
the job the walls for the Andrew
Jackson buildings are going up
fast and when you read this
week’s issue of the Chronicle
the walls will nearly be com-
pleted, No time is being lost to
get the building ready for occu-
pancy by the middle of next
month by the merchants that
have leased space in them.
The brick being used in the
buildiDg i§ the same as used in
the adjoining buildings and thi8
will make that side of the square
the most attractive side.
Fat and Lean Women '
Will Play Base Ball
One of the most interesting
and funniest ball games ever
played on the local diamond will
be played here Friday, May 1st,
between the fat and the lean la-
dies of the Parent-Teacher As-
sociation. The game wilt be a
scream from start to finish and
expert playets have been chosen
with care and they are ea«h in
their separate class; their ability
ball players of course is taken
for granted and unless you wish
to miss the best ball game that
will be played here this season,,
be there early and avoid the
rush at the ticket gate.
School Children Enjoy
Picnic Dinner Friday
The children of the Carrollton
school enjoyed a picnic dinuer at
the school house Friday noon
given by the Parent-Teacher As-
sociation. Every one present
found all they could eat and it
was the best that the expert
cooks of this community could
produce. Each room was serv.
ed at a time and there was no
confusion or delay.

many years without pay. Dur-

Carrollton Is Defeated
In Sunday's Game
One of the most interesting
base ball games ever played in
Carrollton was played Sunctpy
between the home team and
Richardson, altho our boys lost
by a score of 2 to 5.
Seigler, for the home boys,
pitched a good game up to the
seventh inning, when he weak-
ened, allowing four scours in one'
inning. Pannel relieved him
and the visitors failed tp score
off of him.
Carrollton received several
poor decisions on bases by the
umpire.
Next Sunday the Carrollton
boys will cross bats with Sam
Dysterbach’s fast team and a
good game is promised the fans.
If you enjoy a good game of ball
be out Sunday to see this one.

Postoffice Moved
To Miller Building
•
The Carrollton post office was
moved from the Myers building
to the Miller building Monday
by W. F. Hofman, the postmas-
ter. The arrangement of the
boxes will be changed from the
way that they have been.
Instead of them being convene
iently placed on the outside they
will be in the building and access
can only be obtained to them
during the hours that the post
office is open. The old arrange-
ment was unique and attracted
the attention of strangers when
they passed. It will not take
long for the public to get used
to the new arrangement, we be-
lieve. #
The post office had been locats
ed in the Myers building for
the past 23 years and was in the
hands of G. F, Myers for 47
years, the longest period we
have heard of one person hold-
ing the office.
