Met With Mrs. Bray
Circle Number Three of the
Womans’ Society of Christian
Service met Monday in the
home of Mrs. W. J. Bray for
mission study on India.
The meeting was opened with
a song and silent prayer with
Mrs. Shadow closing the prayer.
A brief business session was
held with Mrs. Bethell, the
chairman, in charge. Mrs. E. E.
Smith gave the devotional which
was taken from Luke 23.
Mrs. Bray reviewed- “The
Man Who Disappeared,” and
Mrs. George gave a chapter on
India The meeting closed with
the Lord’s Prayer.
Twelve members and one new
member were present. Refresh-
ments were served and sunshine
gifts were exchanged.

Meets at Church
The Cornerstone Class of the
Christian Church met for a
business session at the church
Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 12.
Refreshments were served to ten

Darlene Brown Has
Birthday Party
Little Darlene Brown, niece
of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Wilson,
celebrated her second birthday
Saturday, Nov. 9. with a party.
Her friends presented her
with many gifts which she
opened and passed around for
the admiration of those pres-
ent.
The group played several out-
door games and then were in-
vited into the house where the
birthday cake was the center
of attraction. They sang “Happy
Birthday” and Dorothy Jean
Lee said a blessing and re-
freshments were served.
The guests were Lenelle Horn,
Earbara and Sherry Reed,
Douglas Mac, Dorothy Jean and
Mary Rite Lee, Aima Earl and
Billy Wayne Hooks, Kimball,
Densal and Robert Wilson,
Emma Fross, Wanda, Linda,
and Joyce Averitt. James Dar-
rell, Virginia Ann Cagle, Brenda
Rose and Billy Bob Richey,
Betty Lou, Barbara Ann, Roland
and Douglas Pool. Also present
were Mr. and Mrs. Averitt, Mrs.
Nona Richey, Mrs. Gayrene
Pool, Mrs. Della Hall, Darlene's
great grandmother, and her
grandmother, Mrs. Audry
Hooks.

To Baptist WMU
Circle Number One of the
WMU of the First Baptist
Church met Tuesday afternoon
with Mrs. L. D. Lester.
After a short business session
Mrs. A. T. Morton led the
Bible study. Refreshments were
served.
The Fannie Marchman Gar-
den Club met in the home of
Mrs. O. E. Dyer Wednesday
afternoon with Mrs. N. C. Tay-
lor as co-hostess.
Mrs. Sebe Smith, acting pres-
ident in the absence of Mrs.
Howard Lott, opened the meet-
ing. Eighteen members and one
guest, Mrs. Jennie Fisher, sis-
ter of the hostess, answered
the roll call.
The meeting was turned over
to Mrs. Aima Chappell, pro-
gram chairman, and Mrs. B. M.
Robertson gave the first lesson
in flower arrangement. “Flower
Arrangements That Are Dif-
ferent” was given by Mrs.
Claude Jones. Several items of
old business were cleared from
the calendar.

Hi-Ho Sewing Club
Plans Weiner Roast
The Hi-Ho Sewing Club met
this week in the home of Mrs.
J. O. Lockey. Mrs. Jce Barnett,
president, presided over a short
business meeting, and a weiner
roast was planned for next
Tuesday at 4 o'clock. Mrs.
Howard Browning was elected
new treasurer.
The remainder of the hour
was spent in sewing. Refresh-
ments were served to Mes-
dames E. E. Smith, Raymond
George, J. W. Bardwell, Murphy
Walker, M. J. Shadow, Joe Bar-
nett, Roy Dickerson, Howard
Browning, Roy Peacock, Orr,
Green, and the hostess.

Dallas last week-end.
Mrs. Lee Lechner
Entertains Club
The 20th Century Club met
Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 13,
in the home of Mrs. Lee Lech-
ner. Eleven members answered
the roll call with a current
event. Mrs. Amy Willis, presi-
dent, presided over the business
session.
A very interesting program
was brought by Mrs. Lechner,
Airs. Sam Jones and Mrs. J. B.
Judge, on current events.
Members present were Mes-
dames A. P. Buchanan, O. E.
Dyer, L. C. Jennings, S. W.
Jones, W. N. Jones, J. B. Judge,
J. C. Judge, L. F. Lechner, T.
H. Peterson, C. E. Revelle, and
Amy, Willis.
The next meeting will be held
with Mrs. O. E. Dyer, on Nov. 27.
