The film version of Shakespeare’s
comedy masterpiece iH the greaes mo-
tion picture evej- made by Reinnardt,
and was produced on an unprecedent-
ed scale of lavishness. In staging the*
ballet Reinhardt brought an outstand
ing Kuropean ballet master. Due of
Vienna’s famous composetrs was en-
listed as arranger for the Mendels-
so^lj^seorey
For key roles in the film produc-
tion. Reinhardt obtained lames
Cagney, Joe K. Itrown, Dick Rowell,
■ leant Muir, llugli Herbert, Anita j
Louise, Trank McHugh, Mickey
Rooney, Olivia dc llavillaml and
numerous other film personalities.
The scenes in the forest are herald
ed as being the most elaborate ever
filmed. Reinhardt made miracles
really happen in the filming. Fairies
and elves go so far as to slide down
moonbeams. Cupid, in person, is ae
tuallv shooting his arrows and Ruck,
I a fantastic little creature with a
I small tail and pointed ears, goes rid
! ing through the air on the Ranch of
a t ree.

I knitted cellophane. Fsed for a hel-
j met. tunic and gloves, it is gold in
eolort, and resembles chain mail when

Thu donkey’s head mask worn by
James ( aguev as ‘t* Bottom’’ is out
only a work of art but a mechanical
masterpiece. It speaks, wags its ears,
and breathes. This intricato mask,
was made from a |>lastic impressiont
of a real donkety’s head. This im-
pression was used as a mold into
which plaster was poured.
On the resultant plaster head a
s|K*eial rubber com posit ion was spray
ed to a thickness of about ail eighth
of an imdi. When the rubber dried, it
was a perfect mask and ready for the
hair., A s|>ecial mechanical arrange
intent, was contrived to allow the
jaws to open and close with the
weight of Cagney’s chin. The result,
is uncannily life-like.
It, is important that tickets ho
bought from members of the Sigma
Tau Delta, so that they may receive
the credit for sales. Tickets, at re-
gular prices, are on sale in both
dormitories. Durward Bailey, piesi-
dent of Sigma Tau Delta, is in
charge of tickt sales.
