Dedicated to Paul Henderson:
"Wherever you go, whatever you
do,
I want you to know
I’m following you.”
The weaker sex must stick to-
gether. Right, Jane Brown?
Where were you on the night of
May -1, *'l,iz,” llershel, Velma lam,
What is Melvin go- Conner? Were the lish biting, or
didn’t you notice?
Not to get off the subject,—•
Tyree, are you deserting the
home town girl after all these
months of total abstinence? She
was an exceptionally cute girl
and I’m sure C. I H. would
have turned green with envy,
had she but seen you.
!!!! Eddit Warren makes a good
chaperon on dates !!!!
Out of town boys and girls
took over our institution of
higher learning Saturday night.
Jane Brown, for instance, trip
ping lightly around the dance
floor with a gentleman named
Bois ---.
Are you sure it was roor beer,
Clellia?
By their sweet odor, ye shall
know them, the gay, happy, un
assuming little (?) Frashman,
also those five gullible, upper
classwomen who got left in A us
tin. How do you like hitch-hik-
ing, Portia, Edith, Sara, "Slime"
and Jane?
HALL OF SHAME—
Ted Crowther.
“He’s gotta be a football
hero,” doesn’t he, Velma Lou?
Eddie Wilson, when out on a Sun-
day aftetrnoon hike over mountains
and all such, don’t come back to
town looking like Rip Van Winkle.
Moderation is the best policy.
Incidentally, “Trees,” always
bo on the lookout for members of
your family when your car runs
of gas or you have a flat.
BE PREPABED/
Tom Johnson has found a ways
land means to make a million dollars
quick in Belton? How’s the family
|fortune standing up?
The Phi’s must be on the look-
out for white-collar jobs, judg-
ing from their appearance last
Wednesday.
Nadyo Belle, have you been taper-
ling off, so Rozelle won’t bo angry
at his dear “Blonde Venue?”
Callaway, we din’t know you
were being faithful to a home-
town girl, too.
Do Louisiana boys, especially those
I from Lako Charles, have a fascina
tion immeasurably greater than Tex-
ans? You should know, Grace and
8ara Nell.
"Miss Southwestern”, why
don’t you tell the boy friends to
taper off and spread out their
requests for the pleasure of
charming company.
Gould, thought you were going to
be a widower while the chorus is
conquering new lands, but you were
doing right well Wednesday.
What great overwhelming lure
does Belton hold for "Trees”
and Eddie Warren?

A salary for conducting a sit-
down strike is something that Jane
Pickens, Ann Caldwell and Pauline
Noland, coeds at Wesley Jr. College,
Greenville, Texas, didn’t expect.
Tired of seeing the typical leg fly-
ing of modern musical pictures, the
girls walked into the lobby of
Greenville’s best theatre, sat down,
and declared they wouldn’t move un-
til they were permitted to see Deanna
Durbin, 14 year-old Kingbird.
Snapping up the chance to get
lively publicity, the manager got
the coeds comfortable chairs and set
up signs explaining that the girls
were sitting there until they saw a
Deanna Durbin picture, put them on
the payroll and moved up the play-
ing date for “Three Smart Girls” to
the next week-end.

The Spanish club enjoyed its last
social of the season in the form of a
delightful picnic at the Fair Grounds
on Friday afternoon from 5 to H
o’clock Thirty-five members with
their sponsor, Miss Morgan and Dr.
and Mrs. Rowe, passed most favorably
on the delicious steak which the presi-
dent, J. D. Harrell, assisted by Dink
Wardlaw and Vernon Booth, served
piping hot to the accompaniment of
angel food cake, lemon pies, choco-
late cake and iced tea.
The club has been most fortunate
in its choice of officers, in its coopera-
tive members, in its enthusiastic and
loyal supports throughout the year.
It is one of the most alive and bene-
fical organizations on the campus.
Mr. Floyd G. Betts, Wharton su-
perintendent, was seen on the cam-
pus Friday.
