hearing: and declaring an emer-

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN TO
ALL INTERESTED PERSONS
THAT:
The City of Port Aransas, Texas
proposes to institute annexation
proceedings to enlarge and extend
the boundary limits of said city to
include the following described
territory, to-wit:
Extension to corporate boun-
daries of the City of Port Aransas,
Nueces County, Texas, a city
situated on the Gulf of Mexico
and adjacent waterways, about 20
miles N. 85° E. from the County
Courthouse, and embracing a
portion of Mustang Island.
Beginning at a point on present
south corporate boundary of Port
Aransas as established in 1975, on
south boundary line of State
Subdivided Lands, for a north
corner of this tract, being S.
55°21’20”E. 352.94 feet from a
concrete monument found under
fence, the south common corner
of State Tracts 92 and 52,-
THENCE S. 55°21’ 20” E.,
along present south corporate
boundary line of Port Aransas,
and along said south boundary
line of State Subdivided Lands,
with a portion of the boundary of
said Tract 52, and a portion of
Tract 51, 643.38 feet to a point, a
concrete monument with a bronze
plat “HORCo NC 308A” set by
Humble Oil & Refining Co., for
tin north Corner of a 380-acre
tract once known as the ‘‘Humble
Fee \ a corner of ‘-.aid present
corporate boundary, for a corner
of this tract,-
THENCE S. 36°08’ 50” W.,
departing from said south boun-
dary line of State Subdivided
Lands, but continuing with said
corporate boundary of Port Aran-

THENCE S. 52° 19’ E., with
said corporate boundary, and
parallel with said State Suhdivid

ad being 200 feet or more
westerly from the present mean
low tide line, to clear all of the
statutory beach arca,-
THENCE S. 37°41’ W., along
said dune line, being everywhere
at least 200 feet westerly from
mean low tide line, 2640 feet,
more or less, to a point for the
south corner of this tract,-
THENCE N. 52° 19’ W., parallel
with said State Subdivided Tract
lines, crossing Clement 16.3 acre
tract and King Ranch portion of
said 380-acre tract, 2404 feet to a
point 250 feet westerly from west
margin of 120-foot right of way for
Park Road 53, for the west corner
of this tract,-
THENCE N. 36°10’10” E.,
parallel with and 250 feet wester-
ly, measured at right angles, from
said west margin of Park Road 53,
3924 feet, more or less, to the
place of beginning.
Containing an area of 164 acres
of land, more or less.
A public hearing will be held by
and before the City Council of the
City of Port Aransas, Texas, on
the 1st day of April, 1980, at 7:00
o’clock p.m. in the City Council
Chamber of the City Hall of the
City of Port Aransas, Texas, for
all persons interested in the above
proposed annexation. At said time
and place all such persons shall
have the right to appear and be
heard. Of all said matters and
things all persons interested in
the things and matters herein
mentioned, will take notice.

On this the 4th day of
February, 1980, the Board of
Directors of Nueces County
Water Control and Improve-
ment District No. 4 convened
in regular session open to the
public with the following
members present, to-wit:
George S. Hawn, President,
Charlie J. Brown, Vice-Presi-
dent; W.R. Whitten, Carlos
W. Moore, and James Atwill,
Secretary, constituting a quor-
um, and among other proceed-
ings had by said Board of
Directors was the following:
Whereas on the 5th day of
April, 1980, there will be
elected three (3) directors for
this district;
Whereas this Board by
order dated the 4th day of
February, 1980, established
the procedure for candidates
who desire to file for said
election;
THEREFORE, BE IT OR-
DERED BY THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS OF NUECES
COUNTY WATER CONTROL
AND IMPROVEMENT DIS-
TRICT NO. 4:
That an election be held in
said district on the 5th day of
April, 1980, for the purpose of
electing THREE (3) directors
to the Board of Directors of
said District;
That said election shall be
held at the following places
COMMUNITY BUILDING in
said District, and the following
named persons are hereby
appointed officers for said
election. For Election Precinct
No. 19, at COMMUNITY
BUILDING, in PORT ARAN-
SAS, Texas, within said Dis-
trict with Mrs. Don Farley as
Presiding Judge.
The polls at each of the
above designated polling
places shall on election day be
open from 7:00 o’clock a.m. to
7:00 o’clock p.m. Nona E.
Sherrill is hereby appointed
Clerk for absentee voting, and
Betty Tow is hereby appointed
Deputy Clerk for absentee
voting. The absentee voting
for the above designated
election shall be held at
DISTRICT OFFICE IN PORT
ARANSAS within the boundar-
ies of the above named district
and said place of absentee
voting shall remain open for at
least eight hours on each day
for absentee voting which is
not a Saturday, a Sunday, or
an official State holiday, be-
ginning on the 20th day and
continuing through the 4th day
preceding the date of said
election. Said place of voting
shall remain open between the
hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30
p.m. on each day for said
absentee voting. The above
described place for absentee
voting is also the absentee
clerk’s mailing address to
which ballot applications and
ballots voted by mail may be
sent.
Notice of said election shall

copy of this order once a week
for three consecutive weeks in
a newspaper of general circu-
lation published in the county
in which the district is located,
or if none is published in said
county, in the nearest county
thereto; the first publication
shall be at least 21 days prior
to the date of election, and not

officers holding the same shall
make returns to the result
thereof in triplicate, one being
retained by the Presiding
Judge, one delivered to the
President of this Board, and
one delivered to the Secretary.
The ballot box and other
election records and supplies
shall be delivered to the
Secretary at the office of the
District and be preserved as
provided by law in said office.
It is further found and
determined that notice of the
date, place and subject of this
meeting was posted in accor-
dance with the terms and
provisions of Art. 6252-17 at
least 72 hours preceding the
scheduled time of this meeting
and that the terms and
provisions of said Article
6252-17 have been complied
with and copies of said
postings and return shall be
attached to this order and
become a part thereof.
The above order being read,
it was moved and seconded
that same do pass. Thereupon,
the question being called for,
the following members of the
Board voted AYE: George S.
