At the G.L. Hanna place
on FM 812 near Red Rock,
an apparent tornado rip-
ped off the top of a barn at
around 8 a.m. Saturday.
Hanna said he heard a loud
noise, looked out from his
house and saw that the
barn roof and rafters were

flash flooding of the inter-
sections stalled several
buses from the Smithville
Independent School
District, causing personnel
to reroute students and set
up extra runs on some
buses. Smithville High
School Principal Jimmie

students were delivered to
their homes before 6 p.m.,

Thursday, May 19,1983 in
Bastrop. He was 64 years
old, and had worked as a
drilling supervisor and
consultant in the oil fields.
He was born Sept. 4,
1919 at Harrold, Texas to
Thomas Dudley and Olivia
HuffFrazier.
The body was tran-
sferred to Hubbard-Kelly
Funeral Home ih Odessa
Thursday for further fur-
neral arrangements.
Burial will be in Sunset
Gardens in Odessa.
Survivors include,
wife,' Sophie Richter
Bastrop; two daughters,
Elene Lawson of Elkhart,
Texas, and Fay Schneider
of San Antonio; a sister,
Josephine Taylor of
Bastrop; four gran-
dchildren and one great-
grandchild.
