CORPUS CHRTSTL
Tf success ever characterised an affair
of a social and financial natur In Cor-
pus Christ) that appellation Is certainly
applicable to the entertainment given last
Monday night at the Seasld pavUionby
the ladles of the Cathollo church for that
institution of worship or rather for th
painting of the church. Bo pronounced a
success was the affair financially that
the munificent sum of I1W wa( petted
from the sale of tickets. Th spacious
building was taxed to It utmost capacity
and many were unable to secure seat
during the concert. Th program rendered
on this occasion wa certainly a credit to
thos who bad formulated It. Th en-
tertainment opened with a beautiful
tableau "The Bride's Dream." where
depicted In the calcium Illumination were
the following young ladies en pose.: Miss
Mta Blossmun. the bride; little Annie
Sutherland tirade Dunn. Moselle Read
Julia and Ruth Jonah: angels. Next
came "The Doll Lullaby the Little Moth-
ers" by littls Julia and Ruth Jonah and
a recitation "Kittens and Bahles.'' by
little Moselle Read the little tots afford-
ing great amusement to the audience. The
two-acen pantomime .. 'Th Flowers'
Sleep" and "The Gossip of the Flowers."
by twelve little girls and boys elicited
great praise for the- participants who
were as follows with the flower each
represented: The fairy Ruth Jonah: ths
bee. Willie. I'ehllnger; rose Annie Bltrh-
r; . nasturtium. j Ethel Downing; illy
Katl Lunn;grass Ethel Brooks; morn-
ing glory Nellie 1 Blue her; sunflrwsr
Athena George;. pansy. Eva Grant; gera-
nium Leona Given; jweetpta. Ia Vet-
ters: tulip Eva Macmanus. Each of ths
little' ones had "a part tb say and they all
acquitted themselves creditably Mrs Tl-
mon entertained ' th audience for ft
minutes .wiuv soias amicun yiercises in
Indian club swinging1 In which h I
very skilled. The "Medley of Nations"
was certainly a beautiful and patriotlo
feature of tb program and waa partici-
pated In by twelve girls and boys who
wer attired In th native oostunw of
the country they represented and also
sung on. of th National soars of their
country. Th one especially deserving of
credit waa the Italian song and th
Spanish song which war rendered by
th genuine article and In th native
tongue; la fact all sung In the lingo of
the country they represented. The fol-
lowing countries were represented by th
child who nam follows: Ireland Molll
Shaw:- Scotland Florence Dreyer; Spain
Fiorina Pas; Germany Ann's Uenllnger;
China Earl Smyths; Italy. Vincent Pel-
Itgrtnno: Swltserland Alma Rankin; Eng-
land (John Bull) Harry Cooper: Russia
Philip Clark; Japan. Maud Cashlon; th
North. Adelaide Moffman; th South Al-
pha Shuf field: Columbia Marie Jordt.
The little ones came out on at the time
dancing their natlv fantastlo or Jig. A
beautiful' and Impressive consummation
of ths medley waa the union of the blu
and th gray who crossed their flags and
Joined hands- whll Columbia stood be-
tween them and placed them under th
sheltering and lustrous "Old Glory." Th
song of the North girl was ''Tanks
Doodle" snd that of tb South "Dixie."
while Columbia entered singing th "Star
Jlpangled Banner." Then th three Amer-
can girls and the other countries too
all Joined in the sweet refrain of "My
Country Tie-of Thee.""" A monologue
"Th Gypsy OlrL" by Mrs. P. G. Bloss-
man Jr. was on of the finest piece of
elocution ever heard Hi this city and waa
highly appreciated by all the audience.
The butterfly skirt dance by little Rosalie
Kirkpatrick and Annie Rankin was also
well rendered. Another beautiful nice
of elocution was the monologue by Mrs.
Waiter F. Tlmon entitled "Nydla the"
.Blind Girl of Pompeii" which wa re-
clted In a creditable and maaterly man-
ner. The evening's program concluded
with three scenes in Grecian poeea. in
which the following ladle took part and
presented a very besutltul picture In each
separate scene:- Misses Msude. Heaney
Alma Westervelt Cecils Morris. Camilla
Heath. Nlta Blossmsn Mra Mlttle Light-
foot Mrs. R. O. Blossman Jr. and Mr.
W. F Tlmon. The program was Inter-
spersed with musical selections by Prof
t'hariler's orchestra of young ladle and
-bo vs. and some high elass selections wer
creditably rendered vy the orchestra. Th
program and teacht g of the children for
this affair were the work of Mra. W. F.
