Madrid June 23 -Thirty persona were
killed last night In a train wrack In the
province of Terull one of tht most moun-
tainous In Spain abounding; la torrents.
Tht train was derailed on a bridge over
the Kiloca river and the coaches were
burned.
The bridge tvk fire and tht engine
fell Into the rivr. dragging a number
of coaches behind It. A terrific storm
was raging at the time and the wind
fanned tha flames Some of tht coaches
were caught on the projecting parts of
the bridge and hung tn mid air and by
tht light of the burning bridge pas-
sengers could be sef-n Jumping Into tht
river. Relief trains have been sent from
Temll. tht capital of the province and
seventy-two mllns northwest of Valencia.
The vtctoms were mostly gendarmes. In
addition to the .are deafh list it Is
feared that many were Injured.

hotel in Portsmouth at o'clock tonight
to the sidewalk below sustaining In-
juries from whkh he died an hour and a
half later at the naval hospital. He had
been In bad health for some time. It Is
thought Commander Kellogs;. during an
attack of vertlao. )ot his balance and
fell from a window at which he was sit-
ting His wife and a married daughter
were with him when he died.
