Future opened 3 points lower to I
polnta higher than yesterday's disc. Im-
mediately after the evening the r arket
was fairly active and price advanced a
few point. These conditions however
continued but a short white when values
eased off under boar pressure and n.-
creaslng bear sentiment based upon the
heavy- movement and increasing stock at
Interior towns and seaiAii'is. as well as
the Increased crop estimates which have
been put out since the week opened.
The better prices around the opening waa
caused by low temperatures In the Texas
Panhandle acompanled by heavy north
winds and much rain in Texas. In the
trading December opened up 2 points at
9.86 sold up to 9.90 and finally declined

.A feeling of hesitancy marked the open-
ing transactions In wheat. Th uncertain-
ty at the start was due largely to the
Liverpool wheat market being steady not-
withstanding the sharp advance here yes-
terday. Tho foreign situation however
was apparently soon forgotten. A close
scrutiny of condlticnj In tTie United States

consequence was a quick advance Decem-

MARKET ON
fort worth supply-
- -excess of demand.
All Classes of Cattle Showed De-
clinesHogg Were Steady
to Higher. -
(Houston Post Special.)
Fort Worth. Texas October 19. -Heavy
receipts ot cattle and a declining market
have been the main characteristic at
the Fort Worth etock yard so far this
week. Another big supply Was received
today which of course bad the effect
Dt placing the market on a lower kaai
than It wa th day before Including
several carload that arrived too late In
the day 10 received the benefit of the
market while in full blast receipt
amounted to 3301 cattle and 1441 calve
making a grand total ot 46W head of
live stock.
Buyers have been amply supplied with
cattle all week and today with more oat-
tie yarded than th demand really called
for condition wer thrown from bad to
worse. Packer were bidding fully 10
cents lower on she stuff which consti-
tuted by far the largest portion of tj
receipts while oalve were slow sal at
a decline also placing th markot for
th week io far about K oents lower u
choice light veal and 60 sent lower oa
other clasee; good cholc veal how-
ver wer scares today and on that so-
eount trading waa duller than It would
have been otherwise). - ;
Salesmen did not have a great many
steers to offer to the trade and th mar-
ket on that clan of oettle ruled steady
and moderately active. Although receipt
W cow were very large -the- showing
to choice grades was light and sales-
men did not have a great many of the
good gradee to offer. Trading wa slug-
gish at th opening of the market but
hen olesmen saw that a decline would
have to be accepted and that more oat-
tie were In eight they began to aell thetr
trings and th movement to the ca)e
between 11 and 2.-90 o'clock Wa with a
grand rush. A few (mall bunch of
choree cow (old around 1.1691.(0 with
the bulk of tale around l.OOtiJ.90. A
good limited demand prevailed from peek-
ere and feeder' buyers for steer to of-
fer in the deer line. Beit steer gold
around 3.16&3.30 with th bulk at 1.160
1.11.
Although receipt of calves amounted
to over 1400 head salesman had but vary
few load of choice itutt to (how to
buyer. Common heavy calves and me-
dium grades were plentiful and packer
teemed to have use for a better class
and aa a result trading ruled alow and
draggy.e A few cholc vealers sold around
4.00$4.(0 but the beat prlo tor a oar-
load or more wa 1.71'
All of th Northern market wer high
er today on hog but despite that fact
talesmen here could do no bettor thai
dispose of the bulk ot their oonslgnmentg
at price In Un with those of last Tues-
day. ; Receipt amounted to 696 head. only a
moderate Wednesday run. Buyer claimed
.that their message from other selling
place wer quoting lower markets but
olesmen received report of higher mar-
ket
" Shortly after 16 o'clock' hog began to
cross the scales a basis being established
at steady prices and by noon the bulk
of hoga was weighed. In the afternoon
one or two loads sold at price that
seemed about ( cent higher lha.i th
opening.
Best hog on the market averaged ta
pounds and brought 6. Hi These hog
were shipped In by B. V. Llghtfoot ot
Venu and are among th best hog Men
on thl market for several weeks
The bulk ot heavies sold around 4.76W
4.86 With lights at 4.264.86 and pig at
4.004.66.
All classes ot animals were offered In
the ring at yesterday afternoon's auction
sale of horiee and milks at the Fart
Worth stock yards. A sale was an-
nounced for the forenoon but owing to
the fact that traders were butry making
nrlvata. aalea. the autclon sale was not
'commenced until 1 o'clock.
Horses sold as high a ia ana a low
a 126. Borne very cholc animal were
knocked down and common plug wer
also entered In the ring. In tact the
prospective buyer hod an assortment ot
all classes from which to make hi pur-
chases. One bunch of broken and un-
broken horses was brought in suid sold
arils which convinced Ut managers of
the salee that buyers wers not looking
for that class of stuff.

bnres outsold all other classes while
drafts were nleo In demand.

Private advice from th South a to
the spot situation sr'a aonfllctlng as
ever. It 1 reported that the bettor de-
mand noted yesterday and tho steadier
tone resulted from the covering of small-
er spot dealers who had sold to mills
and were alarmed over the climatic out-
look while It wa alao said that demand
filled up business tills morning was less
sotlve and markets easier. It ! not a
market however thst we would car to
be short of.
At any deollne of moment mills would
buy very freely. and epotholileis become
firmer In their views thun limiting a
decline under favorable conditions to a
matter of only s few points while should
the present outlook for unsettled weather
materialise In more or Una general reins
there Is no telling where the top would
he found. Fur thnt reason we continue
to advise a comwrvullvoly bullish posi-
