Houston October 6. Liverpool's atti-
tude today was distinctly bearish and
cables from there advised that sentiment
outweighed tha bureau.
The addition before the close of SMt
bales In their spot sale making a total
of 7090 for th day. wa th only rsdeem-
Ing bullish feature.
American markets responded fully to
Liverpool's weaknea and many who had
bought on th bureau figure hastensd to
relieve themselves of their burden and
were assisted to a considerable extent by
shorts Increasing their lines.
At the low point of the day both mar-
kets exhibited many Indication of an
oversold condition.
The principal contention of tho be-
lieving In lower prices are that th
weight of the movement will depress
values regardless of what aotual or final
results may be and also that there Is no
Incentive to Induce any on except th
producers to enhance prices during ths
period of marketing.
Advocate at high price ultimately
base their opinion upon a firm belief
that the law of "Supply and demand fully
warrants same.
Those who anticipate an Immediate ad-
vance consider the market oversold ex-
fiect an improving spot demand also an
nollnatlon on the part ot producer to
hold back and especially the rather gen-
eral rains of yesterday and today to re-
tard picking and marketing. '
The existing situation Is purely a battle .
between the producer and consumer with
weather receipt and demand- the fea-
tures and while emphatic opinions are In
the minority a steady tendency la In evi-
dence and an advance in both spots and
futures Is not Impossible
