Throogh From New Orleans to San
. . Antonio
TO BE INAUGURATED
By 7oia Amatemeat Between ths
. Frisco and the Ksty the New
Schdale Follow for
Both.
A new Joint passenger Berries between
New Orleans and Ban Antonio will be
inaugurated at an early date by the
Frisco and Katy lines. Through an ar-
ran lenient entered Into by the two roads
chair ears sleepers md a diner will be
run dally on a through schedule from New
Orleans to Houston over the KMsoo lines
and from Houston to San Antonio over
the tracks of ha Katy transfer being
made at the new terminal station with-
out change or delay. Schedules will be
shortened and the equipment and senrloe
Improved on both lines so as to afford a
Sulck and high-class through service to
an Antonio
Tbls Increased service through Hous-
ton will not come until the Krtsco people
have put Into effect their new schedule
with additional trains between New Or-
leans and Houston as announced some
time ago. The Frisco Railway company
had hoped to put this new service Into
effect before this but were necessarily
delayed in securing new dining cars and
other equipment. Though It ia now con-
fidentially expected that the new Frisco
service will be put on about June 20 anu
that then the through service from w
Orleans to San Antonio over the two
roada will appear.
The Katy's removal Into the terminal
station for passenger traffic la now a
certainty and will greatly facilitate the
through service which has been deter-
mined upon by the roads. The exact
date upon which the Katy will commence
operating Its passenger trains from the
terminal station has not been officiary
announced though lt Is thoroughly be-
lieved by those in close touch with the
situation that the change will come in
the very near future possibly by next
Sunday but in no case later than Sunday
the 21st of the month. Reliable informa-
tion has been received however to the
effect that on May 21 the Mlosourl. Kan-
sas snd Texas railroad would Inaugurate
a new schedule for passenger trains be-
tween Houston and San Antonio increas-
ing the service by one new train daily
each Way and Improving the equipment
on the others and possibly shortening the
time.
The new trains according to Informa-
tion received will leave Houston daily
westbound at 10:30 h. m. and arrive at
San Antonio at C o'clock In the evening.
The eastbound trains will leave San An-
tonio at 10:20 In the morning and arrive
In Houston at the terminal station at
P. rn. This additional Katy service is
believed to be a long Btep toward the de-
velopment and Increase In the passenger
traffic between Houston and San Antonio
In general and the development of a large
through traffic from New Orleans west
by the Joint service of the Frisco and
Katy In particular.
