dation work has been completed for two
store buildings to be built by Frank Pea-
cock on Winter street. The structures
will consist of two stories and it Is under-
stood they have been leaaid to parties for
business purposes.
The brick work is almost completedl for
two large structures of L. N. gt&nlesy on
Live Oak street. The lower ttorieae- will
be occupied by merchants and the second
stories will be divided Into modem of-
fices. Coleman street has been paved from the
Intersection with Common street to the
track of the Houston and Texas Central
Railroad company. A paved crosertxis- H
being constructed by. the railroad com-
pany. The improvement will extend across
the railroad to the intersection of Cole-
man with Oaks street. With the comple-
tion of this work all business streets of
Merlin will have be-?n pavi.l. includin c tha
street on which the large hotels and bath-
